Anyways, considering notional Astr-2 short-fin AAM length = 3.84 m, diameter = 178 mm, fin-span = 530 cm.
IWB length = 4.2 m, depth = 0.75 m max, width = 2.3 m.
The IWB cannot be perfectly cuboid, but dynamic as per all the weapons needed & equipment around it.

I have seen the same video of what looks to me like KF-21 assembly being passed off as AMCA assembly on Indian media for years in articles about AMCA. I don't think I have seen any video or pictures that are actually of AMCA. Has any form of assembly started? I imagine that there will be nothing to see for a time, given that the 3 proposals to build the prototypes will not be opened until end October. Then they have to be evaluated and a bid selected. Then there will likely be further price and other negotiations. I imagine the winning bidder will only start working on the project in earnest when a contract is signed 2027? 2028?.

A few days ago the Indian Minister of Defence expressed hope that AMCA would fly within 2 years. I do not understand why since is is reported that whoever is contracted to build 6 prototypes will have to fly the first one within 30 months of contract signature. Evaluation of proposals by different potential builders cannot begin until end October when the deadline for bids closes

First flight by September 2028 appears an impossibility. Your estimate seems much more realistic than the minister's.

I think it would be foolish to stipulate first flight within 30 months of contract signing. I do not think that any newcomer to fighter assembly could achieve that so what would be the point of asking for it? Perhaps the contract will end up stipulating first flight within 48 months of contract signature.

The nonsense of declaring schedules that will not be met should stop.
