It is a very new (recently matured) technology and there is a long waiting list... better investing on R&D
it isn't that new the technology has been around since the 50s the difference between the new Nuclear tech, and the old is that they are more modular now.

Yes Nuclear tech is not new -, neither small reactors, submarines and aircraft carriers have small reactors for decades too.. BUT! the SMRs Turkiye is going after is a very new technology, the ones (going to be) produced by NuScale. The design just get certified weeks ago.. Modular compact SMRs for commercial use, it will be a new trend.

Great news. But it won't mean much unless we reverse engineer them in the long term

Sometimes even if you can afford the buy something, it does not mean that you can buy it. Being independent on energy means something.

S. Korea submits proposal to Turkey on new nuclear power project

The two sides have been in talks about the project, which is forecast to be worth about 40 trillion won (US$32.55 billion), and the Turkish government in December last year asked KEPCO to submit a proposal.

The proposal includes South Korea's plan on how to carry out the project and information on its nuclear power plant construction capabilities, KEPCO said.

"The two sides began discussions on the project in earnest. They will carry out a feasibility test to come up with an optimum way to push for the project," KEPCO said in a release.

Does it include ToT?

I do not trust the Russian's not to cut corners during construction, not to mention they will be running the plant for years, meaning that turkey is still paying Russia for energy.

I also think that the Russians will never give Turkey any ToT but with Korea, Turkey could develop a positive working relationship that might lead to joint future projects such as Modular compact SMRs.

Presumably because unlike Russia, South Korea won’t stab Turkey in the back or present terms that are basically exclusively benefitting Russia.
Mate, I do know that Russia is using the Nuclear reactor as a weapon against Turkey but my question towards the previous post was aimed at the "terms" you mentioned

Russia is financing the project all on its own with not even a single cent being paid by the Turkish govt. With no country willing to building nuclear reactors in Turkey at the time and with Russia bearing all the financial burden from "A" to "Z" in addition to accepting Turkish contractors involvement in the project (regardless of how small it seems), what sort of "Terms" did Russia benefit from

This was my question to his post since Iam clearly aware how Russia and US normally blackmail Turkey

Russians have had numerous nuclear disasters why should we trust them to build nuclear powerplant.

Because they were the only ones who were offering to do so 5 to 6 years ago (when the construction was decided) since the US placed some sort of under the table embargo to prevent NATO-friendly countries from buildijg such vessels in the future

This is one of the reasons why Russia offered to bear the 20 billion dollar construction price tag all alone; i-e, to provide reliability since losing 20 billion dollars isnt cheap

Talking about TEKNOFEST has anyone heard anything about a lithography machine that was rumoured to have been shown in one of them?
