Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Iran and Russia have reached an agreement over new negotiation mechanisms in order to advance the two countries' civil nuclear cooperation, Iran's atomic head Mohammad Eslami said in a visit in Moscow, official news agency IRNA reported on Wednesday.
"In this encounter, initial understandings were established so that, with an image of the new method, we can carry out our nuclear projects and programs faster," Eslami said at a press conference after a meeting with Alexey Likhachev, general director of Russia's Rosatom State Corporation, on Tuesday afternoon.
The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran added the projects being contemplated include the health sector, the use of radiation, and the development of the second and third phases of Bushehr power plant on the shores of the Gulf.
Iran's first 1,000-megawatt Bushehr nuclear power plant was completed by Russia in May 2011. Later, Iran and Russia agreed to develop Bushehr power plant. According to the agreement, the Bushehr Phase-2 would consist of two units with a cumulative output capacity of around 2,100 megawatts. Enditem
