A soldier of Ukraine spoke about the catastrophic state of affairs at the front and the consequences of Russian artillery strikes and the Grad MLRS in Ukraine. The combat work of the MLRS "Grad" of Russia in Ukraine and the story of a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine further in the video. A short translation of the Ukrainian soldier's speech about the situation at the front. “The strikes of Russian artillery and the Grad MLRS go exactly where they need to, everything is in smoke, everything is constantly under fire, everything is destroyed, the trenches are broken, there is constant shelling, there is no support for Ukrainian artillery yet, they have been shelling for three days already, there is no reaction from Ukrainian artillery everything is falling apart"

Supplies of Western weapons to Ukraine are in full swing. Dutch tracked armored vehicles YPR-765 were spotted in Ukraine without regular weapons. The YPR-765 armored personnel carrier was developed in the USA in 1970 on the basis of the M113 armored personnel carrier. The Pentagon was not interested in it and the license for its production was sold to the Netherlands. The YPR-765 BMP delivered to Ukraine turned out to be without a turret with an automatic cannon and without a paired machine gun.

It's an APC not an IFV. No need autocannon. It's crew comfort is miles ahead than the BMP or the MT-LB

I think we gonna see the real Russian army now. No more games, they are taking their gloves off. They are advancing fast.
Russian army attacked with full strength since the first day.

From 24 February to 1st April their strategy was move swift from all directions to shock the Ukrainians. And virtually all Russian gains were made i first 4 days when Ukrainians were caught off guard. Despite all warnings Ukrainians did not believe that attack will happen.

In south Ukraine with open plains and low population this strategy actually was a big success. But in other areas Russian collumns which advanced swiftly were ambushed and forced to abandon thousands of vehicles. So they were forced to retreat.

Since 1st April Russians are using all their strength in Donetsk region. despite huge advantage in armor, artillery and air force their advance is very slow. In 1 month and 20 days they advanced only several kms, suffering huge losses.

The biggest strength of Russian army is that they dont give a damn about losses.

Russia to deploy 12 military units in country's west in response to NATO expansion

The Russian defense minister said on Friday that 12 military units will be formed and deployed by the end of the year in the west of the country in response to Finland and Sweden joining NATO, which is subject to approval.

Addressing a security meeting in Moscow, Sergey Shoygu called the step "a measure of adequate counteraction" in response to "growing military threats" near Russia's borders.

"Our closest neighbors, Finland and Sweden, have applied to join NATO. Thus, tensions continue to increase in ... Western Military District. We are taking measures of adequate counteraction. By the end of the year, 12 military units and subunits will be formed ... ," he said.

About other threats to Russia's western borders, Shoygu cited the growing number of flights of the US strategic bomber aviation in Europe, which he said have increased 15-fold over the last eight years, from 3 to 45 per year, as well as more frequent visits of American ships with guided missile weapons to the Baltic Sea.

"At the same time, the United States and NATO are increasing the scale of operational and combat training at our borders. Currently, a series of exercises, [such as] Defender of Europe, are being held with the participation of up to 40,000 servicemen from 30 countries of the bloc.

"The main feature of the maneuvers is the transfer of a full-fledged division from the US to the European continent, as well as the deployment of a group of troops in three strategic directions – the Arctic, Western and Southwestern," he said.

On the war in Ukraine, Shoygu said "the liberation of the Luhansk People's Republic" is close, the Russian army, jointly with the military forces of the self-proclaimed republics, "expands control over the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic."

According to him, all civilians were evacuated from the besieged Azovstal steel plant in the city of Mariupol, and the number of surrendered Ukrainian military personnel, who had previously taken refuge at the plant, increased to 1,908.

Moscow calls its actions a “special military operation” to “demilitarize” and “denazify” Ukraine. For Western countries, however, it is a war of aggression and they have imposed severe sanctions in response.

The move came after President Vladimir Putin officially recognized Ukraine's Donetsk and Luhansk Peoples Republics in Donbas region as independent states.

You are 100% right in the last alinea. They lost hundred times more than they did now during Operation Barbarossa, but even then they didnt give up.

some take:

  • The Western allies really weren't expecting Kyiv to survive the initial assault, hence only token amount of ATGM and defensive light weapons were sent pre- 24 Feb.
  • Weapons shipment will continue to be heavier after the west realize the Ukrainians (unlike Afghans) could and want to resist.
  • Ukraine has the better tactical performance through the entire war. Russia is slowly adapting.
  • Even that, we're still talking months if not years before Russia could be degraded, Russia still has a huge number of military equipment in its arsenal.

Russia produced and stocked the most weaponry during Soviet era. They produced and stocked more than all other countries combined.

They need more Ukraine's to get their arsenal depleted.

I very doubt. And I dont think Patriot is something Ukrainians need now.

Its very complicated, bulky and poorly mobile system. It will need lots of time to train. It can be destroyed quite easily destroyed with cruise missiles (Russia has plenty of them).
I don't think they will destroy it while it is possible to seize it.

How much material does Russia have exactly?

Ukrainian Journalist Yuriy Butusov says that he and Ukrainian soldiers, while on reconnaissance, stole a Russian BMP-1 from a Captain Dmitry Furdui of the Russian 35th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade, just 100m from enemy positions.
