Balkan Tensions

This seems to go under the radar, but there are some serious tensions between Serbia and Kosovo.

Serbia has been shipping soldiers, artillery and tanks to the Kosovo border as well as flying fighter jets and military helicopters close to the border. Additionally, serbian terrorist have carried out two terror attack and burned down government buildings in the north of Kosovo.


I find it weird that Kosovo's allies US, NATO, EU and Turkey have been completely silent about this...

The so-called reason for this tension? Kosovo requiring Serbian plated vehicles to pay €5 when entering Kosovo (Serbia is already requiring vehicles from Kosovo to pay €5 when entering Serbia). Serbia is definitely looking for an excuse to do something illegal.

I wish people wouldn't post this stuff, as its limits the operational maneuver of the military in question. If Kosovo is just watching TV or Twitter, then can see the Serbians coming and counter them. So for me if these people are Serbians, they shouldn't be posting it to the internet.

The Serbian/Albania issue has never really been settled, Serbians will be itching for a fight.

Serbs are the biggest trouble makers in the Balkans.

We need another 1999 in Belgrade.

...and also the sexiest and most attractive people of the Balkan peninsula but that's a different story.

To stay on the topic, I don't expect them to cause serious trouble. The Serbian government must be full of idiots if they honestly believe that the NATO countries would stand still.

I tried to date a Serbian girl too bad it never worked.

Kosovo should buy Bayraktar TB-2.

Serbs have also been trying to break up Bosnia.

Biggest mistake of Izbetgovic was not kicking the serbs out after the war. Send them back to belgrade.

We all know Serbia is an outpost for Russia in the Balkans. They also caused ww1.

It always confused me the culture and ethnicity between albania, kosovo and bosnia. Bosnia is more understandable for me but what about albania and kosovo? When albanians make their typical hand sign they often also say kosovo~alban.

It have to be related to the last balkan wars where serbia wanted to annex parts of albania. Why dont kosovo and albania become one albania if they all are albanians?

Let America sell them Reapers or something... Albanians (even if majority of them are "Muslim") hate Turks a lot and have always seen us as enemies. Kosovo is America's narco- protectorate in the Middle of the Balkans anyway so let them deal with it all.

Half true, they have internal struggle in nation, "atheists amd seculars" are like that mostly, albanian muslims love Turkey especially from north macedonia and majority in kosovo.
Why they clinge to usa is self preservation instict and sort of gratitude to them as they saved them from extinction and gave state on plate, in that they are smart separated emotions from nation policy.
Regarding tensions it is just for show, Kosovo is trying to implement some administration deal regarding car plates which was already agreed and Serbia is flexing muscles for intenal public like they care but esentially no big deal and it will calm down eventually. Kosovo has silemt strategy to eliminate any traces of serbian state among kosovo serbs population and they do that without rush and with patience.

Kosovo is self proclaimed bed rock of serbian state, during history albanians moved there and became majority of population, once serbs won the wars against ottomans they came back and imposed their rule untill www2 when communists won and gave Kosovo administration autonomy which served as legitimate base for 2nd albanian state on Balkan. And their ultimate goal is like you said to become one state but due real politic reasons and international relations they are satisfied like this to.

Ignorants, they actually did well in that battle but battle of Marisa was real disaster for their feudal elite, ottoman reconnaissance force wiped out whole force sent from their rulers and efectively destroyed their ability to act as state, battle of Kosovo was just stamp on the conditions met but serbs took it as ground myth for their nation building identity-

You know I saw some posts of Turks condemning the Ottomans while apologising to the serbs.

This is what this bs anti ottoman among Turks has become. They have become like uncle toms or coons.

When the Serbs literally call the Ottoman Empire the Empire of the Turks or the Turkish Empire.

there is no nation without fools, it is normal. until couple of decades ago all balcan muslims were "turks" for them, it is printed in their collective mentality.
