It was a lot of noise from the busy day at Teknofest, technology, and luchtvaartfestival the old Ataturk Airport in Istanbul. Fighter jets, racing at high speed, synchronized by the air, and let the red lines on the back, and the color of the Turkish flag. Children and the people-watching with his mouth open onto the spectacular air shows. However, it is a much smaller plane, which hardly makes a sound, that is, by far, the most attention to.

It is the latest addition to reconnaissance drone, the Bayraktar Akinci of, dronebouwer Baykar. The largest of the military, the pride of Turkey, is on display at the site, another one will fly non-stop laps around the top of it. One of the first and most commonly used model, the Bayraktar TB2 is to be admired. People on the photo, they may, in fact, to even touch it.

"It gives me a sense of pride," says the visitor's Architecture:

That is at least as popular as the bees themselves, are the men who make them. The two brothers, Selcuk, and Haluk Bayraktar; in America, educated engineers, who are in Turkey and in the meantime, the point of view of pop-culture icons. Especially in Selcuk, which, in 2016, was the youngest daughter of president Erdogan, being surrounded by fans asking for selfies and autographs.

It is the story of the Turkish drones started out as a group of some fifteen or so years ago. Selcuk Bayraktar, came back to Turkey, with the knowledge that he had gained the prestigious American university and MIT. He then began to work on the design for the first time in turkey drone: the Bayraktar TB2. The Turkish government has tried in the meantime, the American presence, but to no avail. The plan is to get by bees was born.

In 2015, it was the first successful test flight. Since then, hear the bees for the weapons of the Turkish air force. They can be used in the Kurdish southeast of Turkey and in Northern Iraq in the fight against the PKK militants. According to human rights organisations, in Turkish drone attacks in hundreds of deaths, including civilians.

Our drones are in the same class at the moment is the best thing in the world
    Haluk Bayraktar

Turkish drones appeared over the past few years for Turkish military offensives in Syria. They were introduced at the end of the Turkish-backed government in Libya. And at the end of last year, the world saw the Turkish drones in action in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh, in the hands of Azerbaijan against the Armenian armed forces.

"Our drones are in the same class at the moment is the best thing in the world," said Haluk Bayraktar, beaming with pride. "They're making tens of thousands of hours of flight time per month, and have been proven on the battlefield, and inside and outside of our borders."

The droneprogramma to fit the world's ambition for military and self-sufficient. President Erdogan has invested over the past ten years, a lot of the private industry. With the aim to be as independent as possible and to have the rest of the world, so that it can stand on in the event of an arms embargo or sanctions.

The Turkish presence is decisive in the conflict, the Nagorno-Karabakh region

The war in Nagorno-Karabakh, also known as the 'breakthrough' for the Turkey's drone industry. Azerbaijan had the war not as easy to win as it is not of Turkish (and Israeli) drones had been. It was Turkey's criticism of the western allies. Turkey entered into after the escalation of conflict in the Caucasus, as well as supporting a controversial rule in India. In the European Union, went on to vote for sanctions against Turkey. Canada on strike to make the sale of the parts of Turkey, used the drones to make.

However, the war in Nagorno-Karabakh had a different effect on you. Several states saw it for the first time, what is the Turkish presence in the house, and went to the front to get them to buy it. In turkey, sold in the past few years, more in fact than ever before. In countries such as Turkmenistan, Qatar, and Morocco, but also in Ukraine. Poland was the first NATO country to allow Turkish drones have been ordered. Recently, it was announced that Latvia is interested in is displayed.

"In this conflict, par excellence, show that Turkish is the technology that will be able to take on the Russian weapon in Its hand," said the Sine Ozkarasahin, defense expert at the think-tank EDAM. "It is, therefore, of importance to NATO."

'Drones as a means to influence you to enhance

The so-called killerdrones worldwide in the character of war is changing. It's cheaper and more maneuverable than fighter aircraft. In addition, there is less of a risk for the driver, since it is at a distance. However, there is a world-wide opposition to the proliferation of drones. For several drone attacks by the US, are often the civilians killed in some cases.

And the more countries in fact, the other countries they like. "Turkey is jumping into a hole in the market," said Ozkarasahin. "They will provide a decent, but expensive drones, for example, in the United States of america. The US has also been hesitant to its dronetechnologie to sell out of fear of the spread. Turkey is more than willing to do that."

With drones, to put Turkey's geo-political relationships at keen. "It has led to a political agent, to the effect in the region," said Ozkarasahin. "This is a message to the world: to show that Turkey is in a strong military and the country that can compete with the great powers."

An ethical debate about the possibility of a military presence, it is not in our country. This is particularly proud of, which is the dominant one. "People are proud to announce that we have these technologies are used for our own sovereignty is to be monitored," said Haluk Bayraktar. "Ten years ago, we tried our drones to buy in other countries. And now, we are self-sufficient, and we export them, in fact."

Where are the losses cited from? Syria, Libya, Nagorno-Karabakh or all three? In NK, only 2 were lost IIRC, 1 due to malfunction and 1 due to flying too low. In Syria, I don't know. In Libya, I heard somewhere around 19 but that was from pro-Russian sources and even they admit that this was before Turkish EW systems were brought online and jammed all LNA defenses so they couldn't hit a thing.

Wikipedia needs to crash and burn at this point.

They are symptom of a larger problem.

Crash and burn is not the solution as another one like it will pop up just the same.

There is a whole elitist group in the west that live in ivory towers thinking their shit smells like flowers.

They have convinced themselves of a lot of immoral, irrational things....and there has not been enough blowback on it to correct it and bring them down a peg or two......yet.

Actually this is off-topic anyway.

For MIUS and UAV tech, turkey and other countries should simply not care what others think and blah about it.....and keep developing it....and go for results always.

Results bring truth to matter like nothing else can.

Bello Matawalle, Governor of Zamfara State in Northwest Nigeria has announced that a Turkish company will supply fighter drones to aid in the fight against terrorists operating in the state.

Matawalle, who spoke at the inauguration of 18 commissioners, 16 special advisers, the Secretary to the State Government, the Head of Service, and three Director-generals on Monday, Oct. 11, said his government will not tolerate laxity as it emerges “from the woods.”

He explained that the collaboration was formed during his recent visits to the United States and Turkey, where he said the two-week official engagements yielded positive results.

According to him, another significant achievement recorded during the visit was a meeting with the Turkish-Nigerian Business Congress, as well as some Nigerian Governors, where they met with more than 20 companies eager to invest in the concerned states.

He went on to say that the supply of drones would be “consolidated on October 20 when the Turkish President will visit Nigeria and meet with President Muhammadu Buhari.”

Concerning insecurity, Matawalle stated that hundreds of terrorists and informants have been apprehended in Zamfara State as the war against them intensifies.

He stated that the recent network outage in the state was only temporary to maintain the state’s current success. The governor urged the people of the state to be patient as the war against common enemies raged on.
