Syria was never difficult, Turkey should have kept open relations with all sides until Turkey could have made a decisive difference. Instead they did they dumbest thing possible, they went all in with the Americans. But then again ak party and feto were one and the same thing back then. No wonder erdogan took us in a direction that benefited greater middle east.

Every time Turkey wanted to enter syria the americans threatened Turkey not to enter and erdogan backed down. As the years passed Russia seeing how cowardly erdogan behaved took the initiative and imbedded herself within syria, once Russia entered the fray the americans embedded themselves on the eastern side of the river.

So erdogan didnt have the balls or drive to enter when it was easy, now he's expecting to enter when Russia and America are there both against Turkey, both supporting the sides that are against Turkey.

Dumb politics, really dumb.

Had you kept all options open you could have gone in any direction you wanted and no one could have played you around, instead the americans dragged you out deep into the ocean with lies and deceptions only to let go of you. 10 years in, billions in costs, millions of refugees, thousands of terrorist attacks later, hundreds of soldiers dying and here we are begging the enemies to enter syria to solve the problem.

The syrian fiasco allowed the corrupt international media including Russia to demonise you over support for jihadis, as well as creating a false/fake narrative over the criminal pkk network, shown as heroes to the world.

Turkey supports and protect the most syrians on earth, instead she got to be portrayed as the evil entity of the region. absolute brainless clowns in charge of Turkiye.

We had to intervene once isis and ypg was growing. But instead we beated around the push too long this what happens when you trust the words of the american, europeans and the russians.

As far as the Americans are concerned they had hoped to get the ypg access to the med sea. Had the YPG had a port, the Americans could have legitimately created ypg state that they would have pushed to attach itself to the KRG. There would be your pkkistan created from syrian and iraqi land, after that they would turn erdogan or who ever is in charge into the next Saddam Hussein and Turkey becomes the fascist dictatorship that needs to be attacked by the free world.

The international media for years now has been pursuing this agenda and erdogan having a big mouth and behaving like a dictator made their jobs exceptionally easy at showing Turkey as the bad guy.

Every single day in the British media you get horror stories about Turkey and stories that romanticise the pkk as the wests great democratic hope for the middle east. That is intentional and it reveals their long term ambitions.

The PKK is always referred to as Kurdish militants that the Turks consider terrorists. Almost as if a select number of sloguns have been decided on and passed down to all editors. Their crimes are hidden, discussion on their ideology is at best discrete, but the pkk/ypg marxists are shown as a monolithic entity that represents all kurds. The kurds yet again are being used as a useful tool for american, european, russian imperialism.

If you want to know what a government really thinks about you, pay attention to how its media portrays you. In england the UK government only shows a positive face towards Turkey, meanwhile her media is vicious and hateful towards everything and anything Turkish. That shows you that the British deep state has an agenda against Turkiye.

What's the procedure for clearing out these tunnels? Seal them up and let the trapped PKK starve to death?

Anadolu Agency mapped the PKK's tunnels in Tel Rifat.

The detected tunnels are at least 30 km long. Terrorists cover the channels they dug with concrete and soil. The height of the tunnels is around 2 m.

If we are frustated, how is the TSK not frustrated with Erdogan's back-tracks?

The TSK have a long history and they get respect from other militairies because of their status and courage.

But this backtracks are also damaging their reputation internationally.

All it takes is drone strikes, artillery strikes even missile strikes to make their tunnels crumble.

That is a good thing tbh

Militaries that act on their own are normally filled with those who wanna rule and this isnt a good thing. The current state of the TSK is way better than it was before 2016 coup. The TSK is now more of Turkey's army rather than a ruling class of Turkey. Certainly, some may not like the current leadership but that may change depending on what the citizens want to do with the state and TSK. Which is better than waiting for a chance to speak after 50 years under military rulers

In democracy, The military is a part of the state. However, in dictatorships, the state is a part of the military

Just look at the state of countries like Egypt, Sudan, Pakistan, and Jordan. If you arent from the military or have a relative within the military, then you are a second class citizen.
The Egyptian military rather than waging war against Ethiopia to protect their only major source of living, irrigation, and drinkable water, is building roads and houses amd then selling them to the public. I know many Egyptians who are telling me that the army is now nothing more of a business group controlling a market known as "Egypt"

Too bad the military ruined its image with stupid coups which made Erdogans job easier.

Civilians as a general rule should not drive military affairs.

The only input a civilian administration should have into the military is the question: "Can we defeat [insert antagonist here]?"

There's a thing called separation of church and state. Well, an equally important but rarely known concept is the separation of state and military.

Erdogans barking and constant backtracks invites trouble. He appeared to be such a global coward that the Russians would even directly bomb Turkish troops. Erdogans controlled media however did everything to hide this truth from the Turkish people. However social media sent the Turkish nation into a frenzy that wanted to go to war over it. Erdogan had no where to hide, he had to do something. The same social media erdogans calls a curse, was the only platform that the people had the ability to see the reality of what this coward was doing.

As a result the idbil operation commenced and revealed the world a new form of devastating drone warfare, something not seen before. However, what did erdogan do? He was begging Putin for a meeting, he and all his cronies even went to Russia like little cowards to agree to a deal where he got to be globally humilated.

But that is the way of the political islamist, at their core their all grifting thieves who understand what easy money religion is.

Here we are "we can come suddenly one night" to his idiot voter base, but in reality he's begging for permission from the Kaffir and if he doesnt get it their nothing he can do but sit down like obedient dog.

AK party has convinced me that religion should always be separate from the state, it brings nothing positive when its used within the state. Its nearly always used by the worst kinds to obtain status and power for themselves at the expense of the nation and the welfare of its people.

And here we are, nothing but failure and an economy that is a global joke. Where a country like Ukraine under direct invasion of Russia has more stable and respectable currency then Turkey.
