Let's dust this off."Diplomatic circles confirmed to enikos.gr the exploratory discussions between Croatia and Turkey for the construction of 2 to 3 ADA corvettes. The same sources reported that representatives of the manufacturing company “Savunma Teknolojileri Muhendislik ve Ticaret” (STM) recently met in Zagreb for meetings. The Turkish Embassy there is said to play a special role, which has already made exploratory contacts with the Croatian Minister of Defense. The discussions follow the visit of the Turkish Corvette Burgazada to Split last October.
...Turkey is said to maintain its lead with its main weapons, the lower cost (250 million per corvette instead of 300-500 million that the corresponding proposals from the competition cost) and faster delivery (they already have one that they would have given to the Ukrainians but could not due to the Montreux Convention)."
Unsure about this but an interesting claim. Piece is hardly anything to write home about, claiming Ada Class was started in 2015 and is based on Freedom Class LCS and that Turkey doesn't deliver Ivan Mazepa to Ukraine because of Montreux, instead of you know, the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Maybe the "European customer" we read about a month or two ago wasn't Romania.
Ada Milgem looks the bestLet's dust this off.
Croatia is planning for 2+1 corvettes/light frigates in a program that is planned to be between 600m-1.6billion euros. More than 10 shipyards are interested, along with Turkish participants.
