I wonder if this could lead the way for spain to collaborate on Kaan. Despite their aging harriers they have not yet comitted to purchasing F35B, although I imagine it's only a matter of time. However they have strong feelings about supporting their local industries. In the event that UK does...
And I doubt US would deny export license of F404 to spain. Heck, if we established a production centre there and spain imported engines as an intermediary in the worst case scenario, that would work too
Idea is they can be transported by cargo ships or cargo planes so you could deploy them anywhere and defend the shores of a remote region. And I think we need them even more in aegean.
I mean we are going for every possible thing, Özgür + Eurofighter + Block 70 + KAAN and if they give F35 we would take that as well, like, not either or, but all of them.
Honestly they should have tried to go for a 5th gen as baseline. Like KAAN. Halting tempest will not just kill the future of their military aviation industry, it will also kill the future of their defence policy and any potential "relative" independence from US for defence and international...
Yeah the trend seems to be that everyone is trying to bolster the number and readiness of existing equipment and delay long term commitments. Same is the case of NGAD and F/A - XX. Could be a bit of fear mongering from US to say hey we have F35 buy that quickly you won't have 6th gen in time...
Yeah wasn't there a video of it years ago? Animation of various uav carrying and launching Çakır, including KE from internal bays?
Çakır without booster would fit an IWB where a jdam would fit at least
Well as you saw hürjet prototype is doing whatever it wants at such early stage, i'd imagine they could do a sort of lrip of the prototype before tests are done
