my opinion, if we wanted to reform our military procurement better start on standardizing our equipment. it simplified our logistic, common equipment means common spare part which also means common training, which cheaper in the long run. procurement in indonesia let's say it shambolic. we...

probably would take a year or two (if the gov really committed), the gov needed to find a company who specialized on deep sea salvage, set up planning/do simulation, man power, constructing specialized equipment needed for salvage, etc (also there's this pandemic thing going on). either that or...

there's always problem with nagapasa class but the problem mostly lies on ship system especially their battery and as far as i know, most of those problem already resolved. but i'm sure after this incident our CBG batch 2 program with south korea would be under scrutiny from politician and...

i think turbomecca (now safran helicopter) now more focus on developing and producing helicopter engine. the development part of adour were mostly taken over by rolls royce and turbomecca only focusing on manufacturing those engine so they can put more RnD resource on helicopter side of things.

why not ask rolls royce directly for assistance just like india and japan did. being it an older engine i think they would give a lot (and easier access) on those engine tech where we can develop our own engine (or partly) from.

just from my observation, what your guys opinion on this? this is cakra class (didn't know which sub) another one when open compared them with kri ardadedali the hatch probably the same size but look at the ring around ardadedali and compared them to cakra class who dont have ring around...

Indonesia Indonesian Navy, Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL)

yes just like @NEKO said above, it would be expensive to do RnD on DSRV alone. better buy the system from company like james fisher and sons and got TOT from them, they already specialized on deep sea operation and their system already proven and operated by much of the world navy. even all of...

Indonesia Indonesian Navy, Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL)

the ideal solution just need one system but configured to be air transportable within 48 hours and use/chartered civilian vessel that capable and closest in the area to transport those system form land to the sea (site). but it's unlikely we can configure like that, it mean we going to need C17...
