I agree a capable Indonesia is a much more sensible option for ASEAN rather than the alternatives. Those with the straight head know anyway, and I said this with as much humility as I possibly can, it's a matter of when not if Indonesia will surpass Singapore in terms of capability.

I've read OPSSG's post way back when from the MP forum days, most of the time his post is rational and well-balanced. Although lately, I got the impression that the thought of Indonesia potentially surpassing Singapore in the region's air superiority kinda unsettled him a bit. I mean his concern...

Yeah I'm also happy to see they considering Carl Gustav as platoon-level support too, it is about time. Hopefully in the future light/disposable antitank launcher is also integrated at every platoon

I believe you are talking about the electronics and mission systems, I'm strictly talking about the platform/airframe. But nevertheless, we have the same conclusion. It's not because they unable to it was because there's simply no need for Airbus to develop and integrate its own dedicated...

I'm sure it can, the original layout of the 10514 PKR was with ASW mortar occupying the B position (where the Millenium gun currently) with Phalanx located towards aft, on top of the hangar.

Yeah, Airbus has little experience and portfolio when it comes AEW&C. Perhaps due to the over-reliance of NATO on the U.S based platform for their airborne sensors? I don't know, maybe someone with better knowledge can fill us in. I'm honestly not too familiar with the M2CA program. Looking at...

You definitely can. It just depends on how much money Kemenhan willing to fork out for it. As I'm sure you know, integrating a system into a platform isn't exactly like installing a bike rack, especially if it's the platform is alien to the system. It will require some development and more...

We definitely need to take advantage of the decline of air travel with a lot of airlines now trimming down their fleets. Let's not forget the RAF also opted for 2nd hand airframe for their E-7 AEW&C platform...

F-15 is indeed the most sensible choice from commonality requirements, but that assuming the requirements for commonality is prioritize or even actually required at all (looking at the rest of our armed forces inventories, this one is looking likely). Rafale is the compromise. Thus, I can...

I don't know where to put this one, so I'll leave it here. https://www.cnnindonesia.com/nasional/20210204074720-32-602063/dpr-usul-lebih-baik-tingkatkan-tni-dibanding-bentuk-komcad I'm inclined to agree on this, with our rather limited budget I feel the prioritization should be on improving...

So much this. I saw pictures of the Kopassus K9 unit wearing their unique camo and black vest with big-white Kopassus stencil across the vest. I get that it's only a demo for the public, but I hate that the army seems to give out the impressions that the concept of "quiet professionals" is lost...

Can't be compared to SG lah, for us, there are still a lot of other areas that need our urgent attention. For Parchim replacement something in a KCR-60 platform, armed with 57/40 mm quick-firing canons, mistral simbad, and either 4x4 AsHM launchers or 2x torpedo tube (+ compact ASW suite)

My bad I meant to say comm systems. But it comes back on the requirements specified by the end-user, the type, and level of encryption, etc, or if they even consider encryption a critical item at all. The last point itself is worth talking about as what the AF consider as critical items for a...

I think the problem lies more in the purchasing scheme that was used. The U.S usually aren't too keen on selling sensitive/lethal equipment through DCS as I also mentioned above with our C-130J secure radio system
