    Bangladesh Air-Force MRCA Program

The newer versions of the F16 are just as good as the Rafale or Typhoon and much cheaper to buy and operate. Americans still have better radars than the Europeans and their munitions are generally cheaper also.

UK £3.95bn awarded for next phase of AUKUS submarine programme

For the UK 2030s is fine. The Astute class is very modern and one of the best SSNs. For Australia they are suppose to get US Virginia class submarines in the early 2030s. Also building the infrastructure to operate nuclear submarines and training personnel for nulcear submarine is very...

Indonesia Indonesian Navy, Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL)

I don't think they are allowed to offer missiles with a range of more than 300km under the MTCR regime. I'm more interested in the Li-ion batteries and AIP on offer. I don't think the French have tested either on an actual submarine so far. They might require a few years of testing before they...

India India to buy 26 more Rafale jets, 3 Scorpene submarines from France: Report

I would put the latest versions of the F/A-18 above the Rafale for Radar and EW. The Americans just have better radars and EW technology than the Europeans. Of course I'm not sure what would be offered to India. The Growler version for example is probably out of the question. Even the RCS of the...

What is the ship on the left? The radar configuration look very unique.

Any chance of the air launched version on Vietnam Su-30s?

    Canada Navy Canada SSK program

The Canada-class submarine plans should be revived. SSNs would be much better suited for Canada with our requirements to cover large distances across two coasts and operate in the Arctic. I would be extremely disappointed if we did not take the opportunity to join AUKUS and acquire nuclear...

Indonesia Indonesian Navy, Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL)

The P-17A program looks promising if you can keep the delays to a minimum. I expect it to be commissioned ahead of the British Type 26 frigate (which was laid down around the same time) at least.

Two to four years for a destroyer isn't bad. Much better than the Russians. The problem is that they don't have much commercial shipbuilding. China, Korea and Japan dominate commercial shipbuilding and the infrastructure and skills developed for commercial shipbuilding allows them to build...

Indonesia Indonesian Navy, Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL)

Unlike China, India does not have any extra P-15Bs to spare. Also the program has already faced years of delay. India can't build ships as quickly and efficiently as the East Asians( China, South Korea and Japan).

Found this interesting video comparing modern multirole fighters. Might not be very accurate but the American planes seem much cheaper than European ones for the same or better capabilities.

How is this different from the Sweden/Turkey/South Korea engine deals?

Indonesia Indonesian Navy, Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL)

The Koreans use mostly F-16s and F-15s anyway so the KF-21 should be designed to operate together with the American fighters. It also has American components like the American engine and will be able to use American weapons. For the Rafale we would probably have to pay to integrate American weapons.

    Bangladesh Navy Bangladesh Navy

Is this confirmed? I didn't think that Pakistan would have the money to buy larger naval ships given their economic situation and thier historic focus on the Air Force and Army. The new Tughril-class frigate seems adequate for their needs. Thier navy will not be projecting power very far from home.

Indonesia Indonesian Navy, Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL)

F-15X is great but we already have so many fighters. For efficiency having a fleet of 3 different types would be much better than 5 or 6. Operating a smaller number of types in larger quantities is much more efficient and makes for easier supply chain. At least the F-15X, F-16s and KF-21 would...

Indonesia Indonesian Air Force, Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Udara (TNI-AU)

Russian equipment is expensive to maintain and we don't have that many flankers anyway. Much better to upgrade the F16s and wait for the Rafales and KF-21.

Is the offer for Scorpène with Swedish Stirling AIP? I don't think this has been offered to any other Scorpène customer. Before France just offered MESMA AIP for Scorpènes which no customer has taken. France has been developing the FC2G AIP for Scorpènes but I don't think it has been certified...

Indonesia Indonesian Navy, Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL)

Why not go with the KSS-III submarine with AIP, Li-ion and VLS? Do the French even have a working modern AIP or Li-ion battery system? I know they have the MESMA but that is outdated compared to fuel cells.

The Boramae should have decent stealth and some very modern radar and electronics. For the future you need reduced RCS to compete with 5th gen fighters. The Boramae might not be VLO but its RCS might be low enough to be able to face the J-20. Especially when the internal weapon bays are added.
