US goal is to never go to war with China: Vice chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff John E. Hyten

Basically the US strategy is never fight a major war against another land power. Weak!!!!!!!

    British grand strategy in Europe.

Basically we all agree the world was better when it was ruled by Europeans? Its fascinating because the US has been the least exploitative global power in history, yet everybody hates it because it has no history and no culture, we all view it as lesser than us. We all want our old empires back...

Office of Trump's defense secretary held call with China on January 6, two days before Milley's controversial call

You deal with the deep state within the American government and military, since the 1970's. Which you now control.

    British grand strategy in Europe.

I have been thinking about this for a couple weeks and doing geo-political research into what Britain's overall great strategy should be going forward. Having looked at it the options are as follows. Global Britain, where Britain projects its hard and soft power globally and mainly into the...

    Australia Navy Australia SSN Program

My guess is the Australians will either endup with a American reactor in a British Astute variant design. Built in Australia. Which will be the most capable sub of any Indo-Pacific nation. But it will take 10 years to get into service. Or a totally new Australia design, which will likely be...

    Australia Navy Australia SSN Program

Its interesting and I could be wrong here, but France hasn't really spoken about Britain, they have given it to the Australians and Americans. They have left Britain out of it. This is either because they don't think Britain matters or because they see Britain as a key strategically vital ally...

    Australia Navy Australia SSN Program

The French has as much territory in the Pacific and close to Australia as the Americans do. The French should matter in the Pacific and Indian ocean, but they don't. They want strategic partners in these regions, it is a big blow for them. Not a good sign from my point of view, I want Britain...

    Australia Navy Australia SSN Program

I know this will seem strange, me being English and all. However French is in reality Britain's best and most devoted ally over the past 170 years. They Americans have betrayed us over and over again, the French may have been defeated in wars, but they never actually betrayed Britain. And a...

Defence Q&A Which is superior? Russian tanks or NATO tanks?

The Tiger was clearly better tank. I think the issue today is that none of the tanks are 'better' than each other. They are all similar. Same as the Centurion was clearly the best tank in the world for a while and then the Abrams. Now its all basically even.

Defence Q&A Which is superior? Russian tanks or NATO tanks?

Its evident from the design and doctrine that Russian tanks are more offensive in nature, fighter, faster, auto-loaders. So for that the American and British tanks are defensive, heavier, slower, bigger overall. Both types are very complex and difficult to build, as well as expensive and very...

Japan could become partner nation on UK-led future fighter effort, says program director

Japan is a collection of islands, with no natural resources. Russia is a vast territory with huge natural resources. China is the same as Russia. US is the same as Russia/China. Its hard for smaller territories with little natural resources to build their own independent industries. Britain did...

Japan could become partner nation on UK-led future fighter effort, says program director

We can't really do that now, its too late. We will be under the thumb of the Americans for a while now. Though I do appreciate your kind and respectful words. Let me know if there is a similar Turkish phrase I can use to 'God Save The Queen'.

Japan could become partner nation on UK-led future fighter effort, says program director

Indeed. the F-35 is the second best jet in the world with the best avionics. So it doesn't matter if its the A-B-C type, its still going to dominate the sky's.

Japan could become partner nation on UK-led future fighter effort, says program director

We just had the F-35B flying from our carrier in the South China sea. Hahaha.

Japan could become partner nation on UK-led future fighter effort, says program director

It's not that Japan doesn't have the money, its more that Japan has been building copies of American aircraft and doesn't have the design and development industry to do its own program. Another thing is how many aircraft would the Japanese need, at most 200. If you fold the programs together...

News Biden to announce joint deal with U.K. and Australia on advanced defense-tech sharing

Thanks. I get what the thinking is now. However I wouldn't do military stuff because you are worrying about other nations getting it. Australia needs SSN's, always has. Japan in my view needs them too. If you feel like it, could you copy and post the thread in a reply to me. As I am banned...

News Biden to announce joint deal with U.K. and Australia on advanced defense-tech sharing

India doesn't yet have their own subs does it? Japan could make SSN's, but it would take a while for them to get them. Not sure about South Korea. Australia and Canada should have SSN's anyway.
