KAAN is a really big and really sophisticated platform. It won't be cheap. Even the fuel consumption would be double that of F16, and that adds up to several hundred million usd a year.

Eurofighter has superior characteristics to F16 in certain ways rather than different roles, but being a twin engine, high thrust to weight ratio fighter should make it particularly good for A2A. Plus Tranche 4 is supposed to have real modern radar and avionics.

Yes but my point is its still a valid option over VLS, even brand new Ford class use it rather than some other solution. And to be fair, Göksur is like a hybrid between this and RAM, like a ram that launches sea sparrows, even has the same conversion from short range A2A missile lineage

Turbine engines generate huge amounts of power. Lets say you took F135 and converted one into an electricity generator. It would be around 20 mW I think. But obviously it wouldn't fly then. Its currently generating 160kW and they are thinking of increasing it to 400. Imagine a 6th gen fighter...

You don't need vls for everything. You can have bespoke launchers for smaller air defense missiles that you can fit more of. US uses angled ESSM launchers on their carriers as well for instance. VLS are, as I understand, more fore standardization to use a variety of missiles, which is more...

Does that mean its chosen as the TTFAC? Because in SSIK already the decision to build FAC decision was made so I don't suppose they are advertising it for nothing?

If we make a small number of heavy bombers that could actually be more useful and economical than a large fleet of fighters. Say a single bomber that can like drop dozens of guided munitions in a single sortie and could stay in air for a longer while could prove more optimal. Based on our...

We calculate price of concert ticket and number of tickets to find how much it costs randomly but don't calculate how much such things cost. Say we buy 1000 f16 that's like 300 billion usd over like 20 years or so to buy and operate

Given this assumption two TF6000s would provide as much electricity as KAAN and F22?, could make a mini unmanned 5th gen fighter, but would probably not be cheap. And then imagine what that number is going to be for TF35000, I expect two of them should at the very least exceed the (160+80) of...

TR Turkish Air Forces|News & Discussion

I said this before but I speculate that TF6000 could have very high electricity generation capacity for its class, following the trend with newer engines, which could allow it to power full sized MURAD. For instance F110 generates 60 kVA, a single F404 is 40, F414 is 70, F135 is 160. EJ200...

Thats the mentality I'm afraid of. The more stuff we buy from US the fewer orders for local companies and less urgency to finish ours, the longer it will take to become independent. We do need platforms but If we can make it past next 5 years or so we will really start seeing things come...

TR Turkiye's F-35 Project and Discussions

I just don't see it happening at this point. I mean it would have benefits, but it is difficult to determine what it would cost us in diplomacy, with money and resources going to it that could danger KAAN too, but then it would have other benefits to KAAN, difficult to gauge the situation. But...
