The US cannot sustain her troops in Syria without a military presence in neighboring Iraq. It's simply logistically not feasible. Thus, leaving Iraq also means abandoning NE Syria. The US will never take this step IMO.

what Actually, that's an argument that Christians always face in discussions with Muslims and Jews. It's debatable whether Christianity is a monotheistic religion but Islam and Judaism have a pretty clear stance on this issue.
