Is it because I'm in it and not an outside observer, that I think Turkish politics is unparalleled in terms of complexity throughout the world?

For the kinds of targets a submarine is tasked to eliminate, yes. Most if not all LWTs are not anti ship weapons but anti submarine weapons and they are employed aboard ASW ships, ASW helicopters and MPAs, not submarines. Submarines also employ HWTs to engage other submarines, not LWTs. LWTs are...

Unlike the Virginia Class boats' 4, 214s have 8 tubes and can carry 10 to 14 spares as far as I can remember. For Virginia, it's 25+. For Americans, using LWTs they can reload faster could be advantageous, but less so for us.

TR HÜRJET-Advanced Jet Trainer/ Light attack aircraft

Yes, but Hürkuş is expected to fill some roles that were in the past reserved for T-38. It is a high performance prop trainer. To clarify, "basic training" is not teaching cades to fly for the first time. That's done on gliders and piston engined trainers like Da-20, T-41, SF.260 and more...

Akya is in development for close to a decade if not more already, it was always the plan to have it replace our older torpedoes, and then DM2A4. We have much older torpedoes in service than the D4 that should be replaced beforehand. Much older SST4s were used in a SINKEX as late as 2018, As far...

We'll pay 5.5 million € each for 26 torpedoes. Wonder if we'll ever learn Akya's unit cost. No way it doesn't cost more with the production numbers we'll have in the first decade. Self reliability is more expensive, something we're learning still. And better question, where's Orka...

This is an unsubstantiated claim from some, while it is possibly true, we can't be certain. In the latest TurDef article there was another claim that US was looking unfavorably to transfer of AIM-120C8 and SABR radars. This is also unsubstantiated for now.

Only supports my point to be honest. Something failed, either due to enemy interference or due to a fault in the system which left the aircraft unresponsive and led to it going headfirst into Ukrainian airspace. And there will always be such risks with unmanned aircraft.

    TR UAV/UCAV Programs | Anka - series | Kızılelma | TB - series

Sure. But in a peer conflict, we should expect similar capabilities from our adversaries as well, not the turkey shoot we grown accustomed in 2021. Lack of a pilot on the controls will always bring these kinds of risks.

There were allegations in Libya and Ukraine, of course not corroborated. Most uavs do. That can also be spoofed. It's how the RQ-170 landed in Iran.

For an Iran sized country, make that 10 million. This is brinkmanship. Relations did not get sour because Erdogan said some dumb things. It can be traced back to the end of the cold war, 91 Iraq war, 2003 invasion 2009 and the Arab Spring. We are feeling the same untrustworthy vibes from US...

That threat didn't stop the previous ones. If the outsiders turn up the heat enough, something they previously did not do in the past protests, especially in 2022, it can get out of hand and become an uprising. A popular uprising is something, but a possible civil war is something totally...

    Live Conflict Israel-Palestine War|Regional Escalations

I'm not 100% sure on this. They've used too much capital over the last 2 decade outside their borders and an important part of the country is fed up. While we don't know much about internal power dynamics and a possible civil war threat is low, a popular protest is possible.

I checked it after your post and Gediz indeed looks now to be armed with 2 RCWS I don't remember seeing before to the two sides of the bridge. Can't make up the model though and have a pretty short barrel as well. - Oh nevermind, they were done in 2022.

F-16B30 used by Solotürk are old aircraft we've been using for close to 35 years now. And Solotürk is out there, flying for the crowds every day, so I don't really think this would be a case of maintenance gone wrong. Air force needs to look at the squadron, its structure and maybe enact come...

Serial production is not scientific development, it's serial production. Kaan's flyaway cost will not be below 70-80 million dollars. It's lifecycle cost will at least be double if not triple that. Simple example, Canada will pay 19 billion(CAD) for acquisition of 88 F-35s, and another 53...
