Sünnetçi says there are still two, one in the back, but can't see it on this. With Levent/Göksur and DIRCM, bow looks to be nicely protected to be honest. If the main gun can act as a semi CIWS as well, bow is the most protected side fo the ship. On the contrary, placing CIWS there...

"For the TF-2000 HSH[Hava Savunma Harbi/Air Defence Warfare/ADW] Destroyer, the multi-surface double chimney (split chimney) concept was preferred for better ventilation, better cooling and to further reduce the thermal signature. We learned that the two rectangular structures located just in...

An amphibious assault is one of the most complex military undertakings there are, where every thing is working against attacker's disadvantage. Unmanned systems may help share the burden in 15-20 years, but I don't see it ever being unmanned to be honest.

Doubt it for the time being, navy wanted the 40mm+50 cal combo as it gives the most ammo+ area effect. Surely FNSS can add another RCWS per customer needs if required as Caka RWS is not that special, maybe save for being a bit navalized. I don't see why Protector 50cal+Javelin or Trakon 30mm...

Will be great when we order 100 more. I'm thinking 27 vehicles is just a battalion's worth. We now have 3 marine brigades.

They've been working on this for the last 2 or so years. Acquiring AEI was a part of it as well. Factory was in the works for some time. Vehicles have UK powerpacks and turrets will probably UK too, so limited Turkish involvement, but hopefully a great prestige win for Nurol. If they win it, it...

As 4+4 number is being touted for the last few months, I expect that around the time Istifs are completed first TF-2000 will have been completed by the military shipyard and design will be given to private shipyards just like with Istif, where we'll see simultaneous building of hulls. Actual...

But, under the helipad or to the sides? An aft launcher could be interesting to deploy USVs(along boats for SAT insertion of course). But is there ample space for a hangar to keep at least 3 boats there?

Finally a new infographic on TF-2000. Details I haven't seen before include, "kamikaze USV, mini UAV launchers, swarm uav" integration, as well as a landing pad for a single 15ton helicopter(so will be able to accommodate T925) and hangar space 2 Seahawk and 2 helicopter UAVs. Start of...

I wonder if this is a confirmation for previously unannounced deals like Gökdeniz for Philippines or something new and whether it's for multiple countries.

We should see whether there's any truth to this in the next 2 or so months with the FY2025 budget being readied.

Anka-3 prototype uses Aselflir-500. AF500 was first integrated to Akıncı earlier this year. I think we can expect for Anka-3 AF500 is just a placeholder until Toygun EOTS is ready.

TR Turkiye's F-35 Project and Discussions

To remember, Turkey never ordered 100 F-35s. By 2018, total order number was at about 30. There was a future projection of about 100(+ or -) aircraft to replace the F-4s. When Turkey entered JSF, F-35 wasn't the geopolitical "choose your side" it is today; it was just the next big American...

Tests are usually are done in controlled environments. While I don't expect this test was made against a premier FPV operator's very high speed drone, more than likely it wasn't a single test either. With a laser turret like this, you don't need human operators on the joystick operating it. I...

10% number is based on current consumption. This is much more accurate with the long course projections that includes greens, LNG and other NPPs: "It is estimated that Akkuyu will meet 5.5% of Turkey's energy consumption 8 years after it becomes fully operational, 4% by the end of its feed-in...

Pods are fine and all but as said, its a third party solution to a greater issue. We'll still need a tailor made UAV for the role. And indeed, SAR pods seem too specialized and not enough in service.

A bigger one as well, because it's the Germans hampering the installation with export controls, not the French, who as usual is more than happy to do business.

    TR Nuclear Energy Program

By design, if it doesn't supply energy, Rosatom doesn't get paid. And it can only supply energy to Turkey, so only way for it to make money and recoup its 25 billion dollar cost is to sell energy to Turkey. We can use other energy sources, we have a huge LNG sector and US is always ready to sell.
