You would not be surprised to learn that “those who hold power within the country are in error, misguided and even are traitors. Furthermore, they identify their personal interests with the political designs of the invaders”, just like you predicted on October 27, 1927.

I do not know whether I hold a sublime power in my veins as you put it but I promise you, your brothers in arms and those unsung heroes that happily gave their lives for this land of ours that, we, the silent majority will not give it away without a fight.

Rest in peace Atatürk.
