What the majority of Turkish people think of Xinjiang issue? Is it safe for the Chinese citizens to travel in Turkey?
I think the overwhelming majority of the people are neutral but very nationalist and young ones are angry over Xinjiang. A very big chunk is glad and happy about the neo-silk road project, the belt initiative and its potential economic contribution to Turkey however.
The last 5 years literally made the US the biggest antagonist of our country. The anti-US sentiment is way above than any other country. Polls show %95 of the population hates the US. They support PKK, they support Gulenist infiltration cult, they support Greece in East Mediterranian, they kicked us out of F-35 programme, they attacked our economy with their sanctions and Halkbank suitcase, they recognised the so called Armenian genocide, their media completely demonised Turkey.
Turkey got closer to Russia as a result but Russia has always been our rival throughout the history so it is one of the most complex geopolitical relationships we have.
So that leaves China as the only superpower we have no dispute with.
