Army Airborne assault troops and the Special Operations Forces of the Ukraine will receive Kozak-2M1

During the tests "Kozak-2M1" passed more than 15 thousand kilometers, in particular and on the area which is intended exclusively for movement of caterpillar equipment.​

The recommendation to adopt the Kozak-2M1 car was issued by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in April 2020.​

Airborne assault troops and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive an armored combat vehicle "Kozak-2M1".
This BBM was developed in accordance with the operational and tactical requirements provided by these types of troops. The first deliveries of "Kozak-2M1" are planned for the second half of 2021.

It is noted that the development and testing of wheeled ATVs, as well as changes in accordance with the characteristics and needs of paratroopers and special forces, lasted for several months with the direct involvement of representatives of these elite families of troops.

In 2019−2020, Kozak-2M1 passed the state tests with positive results. In April 2020, this BBM was recommended by the state commission for the adoption of the domestic army.

The main weapon of "Kozak-2M1" is a 12.7-mm large-caliber machine gun NSV, which is installed in a protected turret



It is also noted that during operation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the armored vehicle "Kozak-2" "proved to be a reliable wheeled armored vehicle that ensures the practical implementation of the full range of combat tasks assigned to units." Therefore, the motive to buy cars to replace this BBM is currently unclear.

Instead, ArmiyaInform decided to emphasize that in the period from 2016 to the present, the Kozak-2 car for the Ukrainian army was purchased under state contracts at a contractual price set in 2017, which was about 8.4 million hryvnias and not revised.

"Kozak-2M1" meets the NATO protection standard STANAG 4569 level 2 for protection against small arms and level 3a for mine protection



According to the state contract concluded in December 2019, the contract price for Kozak-2 of UAH 9.28 million was determined on the basis of actual costs, taking into account the increase in the minimum wage and the increase in the cost of energy.

Inspections and audits by the authorized bodies of control did not reveal any remarks on pricing under the concluded state contracts for the purchase of Kozak-2 armored vehicles.

In December 2020, the Marine received a consignment of Kozak-2 armored vehicles
