My friend, you’re better off interrogating the Indian journalist who wrote the article with with that headline. https://www.dhakatribune.com/opinio...termites-to-tiger-india-s-bangladesh-neuroses
It’s not bangladeshis calling Indians neurotic but an Indian himself.
So deal with him instead of pissing on bd at the expense of healing your bruised ego

OK seems you don't want to let it go.

Again it is exactly why I replied here and presented a point of view back...that you took as a "jab" because you are...well sensitive I suppose. *wags finger...please refrain*.....uh or what? :D

Again if you have something to say to another mod like that (first thing over a "jab")....you ought to know where to go for that. Yet here you are still persisting. OK....lets see where that goes.

It’s not bangladeshis calling Indians neurotic but an Indian himself.

So that makes it fine to post idune article spam here too and not have that up for challenge by BD members?

Purely following the logic...BD author says this about BD!...its 100% legit by default! No challenge accepted or allowed. Please refrain from commenting...you BD egotist! ...esp. given because its a BD author writing it.

WTF lmao. This is applied by you lot? No wonder there's a 95% election result and that level of nepotism and corruption present....this level of hypocrisy doesn't just appear out of nowhere.

So deal with him instead of pissing on bd at the expense of healing your bruised ego

1) He's talking about Bangladesh, here is the reasoning and my perspective the contents are faulty.

2)Viewers/readers can make up their own minds on it...and if anyone is unfairly "waaah" jabbing.

3) This is not complicated lol.....but lets deflect to "bruised ego".

Really don't get why you have to be this sensitive about it.

@Nilgiri,

So what are the tricks and hacks that Bangladesh has used to have higher life expectancy than India, and higher percentage of women in the workforce, lower debt to GDP, etc.?

Also, if Bangladesh is faking all of its growth then why don't other countries also fake their statistics to get a higher raking than India in IMF statistics?

Or is only Bangladesh uniquely shitty that we fake all our statistics while the rest of the 190 countries in the world are so so honest?

1) Tricks and hacks are all part of the setup when you have a country ranked bottom 10% percentile in corruption perception index and institutional credibility.

If you want to become more credible on it, improve your corruption ranking to something at least halfway passable in the world. I mean look at other countries of similar corruption ranking....we supposed to treat them all credibly when it comes to whatever asserted internal statistic claimed for muh progressivisms? Especially with tiny trickle of people actually going to the country? Why exactly did BD reduce its mass scale sampling in health in the 90s to a small fraction? You want the UNHDR spreadsheet showing this?

As for lower debt to GDP....again it rests with inflating the GDP. Clearly it is given constant GDP dissonance with current dollar. How much? Well BD can work to reform and join a better standard at IMF and lets find out. But that will hurt BAL (like they hurt your market cap in last few years) so guess that's off the table for another decade.

2) Why dont all countries just fake? Uh because they dont have 95% election results to produce and family dynasties to protect and actually give a damn about getting somewhere credibly as a people?

Ask yourself why did BD market cap tank to 50 billion USD from 80 billion earlier? (already low base)

Why has Vietnam's steadily progressed to 150 billion?

This is stuff a govt cannot conjure for a reason, so why is it always so dissonant in BD case?

Every singe thing you guys promise to export 2 years ago, you check with the claimed import countries....appears as zilch. No follow up in BD media....surprise surprise.....after all the brochure mafia needs to keep going.

3) Asking the same question again doesnt add to its credibility. Yes you are ranked very badly in corruption (compared to the noise BD political family and media need to generate given its population)...it is what it...unique if you say.

What some in India don't get - especially those who have been brain-washed to believe that Indians in India cannot do any wrong and that India is the greatest gift to world civilization (despite deep inroads of fascism in India recently, and in particular anti-Muslim pogroms), is that Bangladesh has already shown a better way, through communal harmony and playing it safe with its economy.

This is demonstrated by not just the article I posted, but many, many others recently written by educated, sane, thoughtful Indians themselves showing the wrong direction India has taken recently as a nation (and more relevant to this thread, in economic measures) to offer help its poor and minority populations like Muslims.

Bigoted neo-fascists in India will stand for no constructive criticism of India, topic of economy or otherwise.

India can DO NO WRONG. How dare you question Indian fascism?? Mera Bharat Mahaan (Indian is the greatest). If you write against Modi's policies, you are anti-Indian.

So what if Modi's govt. screwed up and tanked India's economy? No criticism or discussion/analysis allowed.

When do these attitudes end?

I find it refreshing that all Indians are not turning neo-fascist.

And to hit the nail on the head, I will state exactly why some in India cannot believe that Bangladesh economy can do better than that of India.

It's because that BJP govt. and neo-fascist Indians (headed by current PM of India) have for years indoctrinated their followers that Muslims are beggars, and interlopers and generally inferior to superior Hindu folks.

This recent development that Bangladeshis are now richer than Indians flies in the face of that former belief and invalidates years of Hindu fascist theory.

But it is what it is, some are too blind to see things for what they are.

Your anger was misdirected and you went about belittling another countries shortcomings, because an Indian journalist wrote on a controversial topic.

Again its your opinion. If the original article sets up the arguments and assertions a certain way....it is reasonable to call them out and show where it doesn't hold up. This is the point of this forum.

What's next, the Turkish members are not allowed to criticized Erdogan or Macron or Trump or whatever leader or govt or political party in whatever way?...because it is "belittling" the larger country? The Pakistani members can't go after Imran Khan or Modi or their govts and their statistics?

Every criticism I make I put down to BD govt solely (which is not entirety of BD). Every criticism I make of specific BD members here is reaction to your assertion on me....again none of you are any entirety either.

My assertion is both "termite" and "tiger" are wrong, these are wild swings asserted by a politician and a journalist (the author)....neither of which are intellectual by any stretch of the imagination.

But if you dont go glove in hand with the author and instead show the contrarian point to it, its belittling and you should refrain from "jabs".....that every other group for some reason here in forum seem totally fine with in interest of argument and debate....guess everyone else has got tough skin. Maybe you specific lot should look into that.

Aha, so every international ranking which shows BD ahead of India is due to our cheating...

But the corruption rankings have India above BD so that's 100% legit.

Bangladesh could cheat its way above India in all those other indices, except for the corruption ranking.

Its all clear to us now.

Sure but that can be done without being insensitive

what you fail to comprehend is words can be said without being harsh, yeah sure... bd has little to nothing in terms of auto manufacturing, the one private assembly line may be assembling 50 cars a month at most, but you don’t have to be condescending in tone
Sure we been hearing all this a long long time. Lets hope it gets you to 1000/year assembly.
Progoti hasn’t been assembling vehicles for a “long long time” they’ve set a few goals and have given interviews and so has jamuna...

The Indian Army has gifted 20 trained horses and 10 dogs to the Bangladesh Army as a goodwill gift.

These horses and dogs have been brought to Bangladesh through the Benapole border.

At 12 noon on Tuesday, Major General NS Rud of the 17th Infantry in Uttar Pradesh, India, formally handed over the horses and dogs to Major General Humayun Kabir of the Bangladesh 55th Infantry at the no man’s land of Petrapole checkpost.

Confirming the matter, Subedar Ashraf Hossain, commander of Benapole ICP Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) camp, said the horses and dogs were first brought to Chashara cantonment in Kolkata from Uttar Pradesh cantonment in India.

Later, the dogs and horses were handed over to the Bangladesh Army from Petrapole Border Security Force (BSF) camp at around 12pm on Tuesday after completing all formalities.

While accepting 20 horses and 10 dogs donated by the Indian Army, Major General Humayun Kabir of the Bangladesh 55th Infantry said that the Indian Army will gift 50 trained horses to the Bangladesh Army.

Twenty horses in the first shipment arrived on Tuesday. The rest will arrive by December this year.

The trained dogs provided by the Indian Army are capable of identifying drugs and miscreants.

Bangladesh should stay away from Indian sub-quality weapons and go for battle-proven Turkish weaponry.

Are you trying to troll or something? There is no need to bring this kind of agenda out of the blue in some zero-sum suggestion way, countries compete and develop over time in all sectors as they can and see fit to.

If you first want to brag about "battle-proven"....you can first see which country is war-proven when it comes to establishment of Bangladesh in first place...so you even have the country to make subforum discussion here on this topic in the first place.

Second, Indian military export sector is just starting out and will grow with time....the actual importers+operators can say what is sub-quality or not themselves (or not order in first place)....and it will all show in the numbers this decade:

Also given it is asserted 1 billion deal for light armoured vehicle RFP is what now tipped trade of BD-Turkey trade to be bigger than say Pak-BD trade, it would be useful if someone has actual update on this since all the news are from 2017, but nothing since:

In July 2017, website of the National Industrial Portal of the Ukrainian Industry, has released a statement regarding a contract for the delivery of 600 Tur-K2 and 80 Tur-K3 4x4 Ukrainian-made armoured vehicles via the Turkish Company Delta Defense to the Bangladesh armed forces.

According to the Turkish Website C4 Defence, the Turkish Company Delta Defense will delivered 100 Tur-K2 to the Bangladesh armed forces in 2018, 150 in 2019 and a total of 600 vehicles in the next five years.

Not really, India was not bidder in the RFP. I believe a bunch of chinese platforms were, and hopefully Turkey beats them to the punch.

This development is something else, we have to see how it goes.

Akash-NG for example is what I believe is being talked about here, it is a different range class to Hisar.
Heard India is offering 500 million USD line of credit to BD for these deals. This makes this interesting.

That has been sitting around unused for some years now....and the same murmurs of A B and C being potential offers were given around that time too. What has really changed in where India even has spare capacity (given priority of vast own needs having to be transferred from current import stream) in first place?

The issue lies in political realm w.r.t BD military reluctance....and I can see why.

Relations on all fields (not just highest tier of govt etc) kind of have to be near 100% as far as possible and very comprehensive to really be able to make defence sector headway....given the size disparity here. Given even smallest realm of possible chance of conflict with those odds, means you need everything as far as possible to not be from such a larger country +neighbour (surrounding you on all sides)....no matter the positive relations and historic context on various fronts.

Relations really are not that great (to that level) for that IMO...to bring sea change in BD military quarters w.r.t that established precedence now (esp given it is now what 2 - 3 terms of entrenched Hasina rule?)

It is it's own unique situation.

Keep dreaming. I could find dozens of these kinds of reports on indian hardware.

"If you first want to brag about "battle-proven"....you can first see which country is war-proven when it comes to establishment of Bangladesh in first place...so you even have the country to make subforum discussion here on this topic in the first place." What kind of argument is this? :ROFLMAO: your defence industry is a joke to everyone.

Again you can troll as much as you would like.

I've seen thousands more talking about F-35 audits and problems during its development.

I guess that means the F-35 and US defence industry is "a joke" to "everyone"....all because of an individual's agenda to cherrypick with no context. Rather than look at how the overall numbers and evidence actually shape up.

When RnD is applied and QC/QA develops and matures for the system, it will show up in actual democracies that have to do (and release) audits in first place.

This is the very reason (among others) that when not done (in the region), means you are stuck with imported ballistic missile tech...but unable to progress to say something like a sounding rocket....because you have no application process.

Not every country is part of NATO tech chain and resource heritage to begin with either.

But again context means very little when you want to cherrypick I guess.

Bangladesh Defence consultants and sector are firmly against making purchases from India.

They are all firmly in the Chinese camp, first preference.

Like I said before this has recently changed to include Ukraine, Turkey, Indonesia and even more recently Singapore and the US.

This is not going to change - and has multiple solid reasons, which I don't want to go into.

Offering 500 Million credit means little when they are going to put in clauses that benefit sellers' interests, which is common practice.

Also means we don't have to exercise the sellers' credit option, since we are solvent and can buy with cash, from whomever supplier we deem competent.

New Delhi, Apr 8 (IANS): Continuing with the excellent tradition of strong bilateral and defence ties between India and Bangladesh, Indian Army Chief General M.M. Naravane is on a five-day visit to Bangladesh. He left for Bangladesh on Thursday morning.

General Naravane's visit comes in the midst of Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations which mark 50 years of the liberation of Bangladesh, made possible by the historic leadership of the Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and heroics of the Mukti Bahini who fought shoulder to shoulder with the Indian Armed Forces.

The Army Chief will pay tributes to the martyrs of the Liberation War by laying a wreath at the Shikha Anirban on Thursday.

This will be followed by one to one meetings with the three Service Chiefs of the Bangladesh's Armed Forces. General Naravane will also visit the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi, where he will pay tributes to Bangladesh's founding father.

He will interact with Bangladesh's Minister of Foreign Affairs on April 11 at Bangladesh Army's Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka where he will attend a seminar on UN Peace Support Operations and deliver a keynote address on 'Changing Nature of Global Conflicts: Role of UN Peacekeepers'.

General M.M. Naravane is also scheduled to interact with the Force Commanders of the United Nations Missions in Mali, South Sudan and Central African Republic and the Deputy Chief Operations Officer of the Royal Bhutanese Army on April 12.

He will also attend the closing ceremony of Exercise Shantir Ogrosena, a multilateral UN-mandated counter terrorism exercise comprising the Armed Forces of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka along with observers from the US, the UK, Turkey and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia among others.

He will also witness the innovations of the Bangladeshi Armed Forces personnel during the Hardware Display.

The Chief of the Army Staff will interact with the members of Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support and Training Operations (BIPSOT) during the last leg of his visit.

This visit will further deepen the bilateral relationships between the two Armies and act as a catalyst for closer coordination and cooperation between the two countries on a host of strategic issues.
