CZ Bren 2 for the French Gendarmerie ?

According to rumors within French military circles,the Gendarmerie Nationale is eying the CZ Bren 2 in 5.56×45mm NATO to replace the Famas currently in service within the Gendarmerie. A decision could be made within 6 months.

While the army has selected the HK416F to replace the Famas the Gendarmerie should take another way.

When Gendarmes were deployed in external operations they were using G36s or HK416s.

It must be noted that the GIGN had acquired CZ Bren 2 in 7.62×39mm with very positive feedbacks.

There aren't much informations available about the Famas replacement for the Gendarmerie,but it seems the Gendarmerie wants the CZ Bren 2 straightforward without any tender organized.
