There was a project for offshore wind energy platforms, announced by energy ministry several years ago and some institutions has initiated projects related to it. In the end, a partner experienced (more likely a foreigner company) with constructing those at open sea and experience on maintanance was seeked.

But we're only doing this in Izmir, the conditions must be of such a high quality that (with regards to pollution and such), since EU ships can only be salvaged in Izmir.

Cruising is a good way to both vacation and and see places at the same time. The best part of it is you don't have to get visa for the visited countries. An average cruise is 7 days long in which you can normally visit 4-5 ports. If you do several cruises like this you can visit all countries in the region. If the home port is Istanbul which is the most accessible location in Turkey most people can board without extra costs like airline travel. It would be most convenient. Maybe a couple cruises from Kuşadası, Marmaris and Antalya and possibly Izmir will be good. Maybe in the coming years cruising to Turkish destinations will boom with the Istanbul ports being renovated. But nowadays the world cruising industry in on the verge of collapse. Indicators show that the aviation industry will not get back to its pre-pandemic level before 2024 which in turn is an indication for cruise industry as well.

Once upon a time there was seaplane trips from Halic/Istanbul to Bodrum (?) and the company ended up with $5mn loss.
There were also helicopter shuttles in Istanbul which closed up shop long ago.

That Norwegian company I mentioned just because they were in some cruise news, nothing special.

True, but considering the abundance of history, old sites, nature and what not we have, we should be able to pull of a cruise experience.

Get some old cruise arrangers to come and give input on trips, stops and such.

An example. Most Danes don’t know that you can ski in Turkey, they’re like ”huh ?” When I tell them, I skied in Kartal Kaya.

So unless you take the time, invest and have it ready, don’t expect anyone to come and do it for you.

give away these trips for dirt cheap, if the experience is good, word will spread.
