Helwan Diesel Engines Company was established in 1960 as an industrial diesel engine company in Egypt and the Middle East. The company's factories are located in the number of (2) units - one of them in Helwan on an area of 161 thousand square meters, and the other in Shubra al-Khaimah on an area of 61 thousand square meters. The company is ISO 9001/2008 / ISO14001 / 2009 certified in the design and production of diesel engines and spare parts.

There is also a ongoing deal with Belarus to manufacture tractor engines but overall the industry is not as developed as I would hope. Egypt needs to make engines for its military vehicles, and of course transmissions and suspensions in country in order to insure it cannot be sanctioned.
