The Nigerian Minister of Energy said in an interview with CNBC Arabia television channel on the sidelines of the Gastech conference that his country has started to implement the construction of a gas pipeline to transport gas to Algeria, said yesterday Tuesday, the same media.

He also pointed out that his country is currently focusing on gas production, noting that during oil exploration, 256 billion cubic meters of gas have been explored.

The minister indicated that Nigeria's interest in gas comes with the aim of completing the production of all its gas, especially as the era of fossil fuels is drawing to a close, according to the Nigerian Minister of Energy, to then use renewable resources for energy.

Last week, the CEO of the Algerian public oil group, Sonatrach, Toufik Hakkar, indicated on Monday in Algiers that the feasibility study of the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP) project, connecting Nigeria to Europe through the Algeria and Niger, is completed and submitted to the companies of the two African countries.

Last August, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, indicated that Algeria gave "particular interest to the rapid realization of this important project which will give new impetus to relations between our two countries, in terms of technical cooperation and capacity building ”.
