Adding the link to a good vaccine tracking source below.

Will the Oxford/AstraZeneca win out? Will the russian vaccine work in the real world? If anyone has any details on the type of vaccine Russia has made, please provide details and source.

I don't find the Russian vaccine credible, given there was no transparent data released about its final phase RCT trials.

If they rushed through all that just to be first, that's not good because its essentially coin flip (or worse) long term.

I believe either americans or germans will develop the first effective vaccine, however i believe americans will have convenient procedures for trial phases which may bring their vaccine into commercial stage.
It will be a disappointment for humanit when some companies try to make profit over vaccines unlike what WHO tries to do with a collaborative scheme to develop and test and produce the vaccine

What happen to Bharat Biotech ? The ridiculous timeline they had set for Aug 15. I have heard nothing about it since.

Check the link I posted, they seem to be delayed, still stuck on phase I and II. Under 'Inactivated Vaccines'.

China have approved one of their vaccines for emergency use for 'at risk' individuals.

This is probably the best candidate out of many due to its traditional approach, although hard to manufacture, they can only make 100million doses per year and it needs 2 doses 2 weeks apart.

Even though it might be the best, conspiracies and distrust of pharmaceuticals from China will obviously have this vaccine not be taken seriously?

They have been in phase III trials in the United Arab Emirates and Brazil since July, so would have developed a good safety and efficacy profile.

So the Victor is Pfizer and Moderna. Shame India has not sourced either. Will just have to wait for the Astra Zeneca / Serum Institute one.

I guess we could share information about the vaccine here. Interesting and it's pretty obvious that the vaccine producers have promised more than they can handle/deliver.

Which is proof of their greed and inability to deliver upon the promise. I think we can expect the shipments from EU to be halted if the promise to EU countries isn't kept.

Supply chain...

Every country should have a bare minimum production facility. Denmark sold their own vaccine production capability for 15 mio. dkk because they weren't generating profit in 2016... 15 mio. dkk is nothing for a country like Denmark. But the process of optimizing lead to this.

Critical infrastructure needs to be identified and protected, but still optimization and efficiency is just as important.

In the end the Indian made COVAXIN will win out, it's cheap, can be stored without special equipment and it's initial phase 3 efficacy is very good.

I think it will be combo of covaxin, astrazeneca, novavax and johnson+johnson (given this one is also single dose only too)....all are apparently going to leverage huge production capacity inside India this year.

India has about 60% vaccine production capacity of the world after all.

The issue for lot of countries is the logistics side of things...to get the last mile delivery in speedy time....even with these 4 being far more tolerant to cold-chain req. needed for storage+delivery etc.
