Germany will send a military field hospital to Ukraine, Voice of America reports with reference to the Minister of Defense of Germany Christine Lambrecht.

The publication reports that Berlin has already delivered a consignment of respirators to Ukraine. Severely wounded Ukrainian servicepeople are currently being treated in Bundeswehr hospitals.

"In February, [Ukraine will receive] a full military field hospital, including the necessary training, with co-financing from Germany in the amount of 5.3 million euros (6.0 million US dollars). We are on the side of Kyiv. We must do everything to de-escalate the situation," Christine Lambrecht said.

As it was reported, in late May, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has reproached Germany due to the refusal to supply weapons to Ukraine.

This happened shortly after co-leader of Alliance '90/The Greens Robert Habeck stated during his visit to Kyiv that Ukraine cannot be refused in their right to get the defensive arms.

In June, then Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas stated that Germany does not supply arms to crisis regions of the world, countries at the state war or countries threatened by war.

In October it became known that the German government led by Angela Merkel used the NATO consensus mechanism to block arms supplies to Ukraine.

Later, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock made it clear that the position of the new German government headed by Olaf Scholz regarding arms supplies to Ukraine had not changed after Angela Merkel's resignation.
