From Monday 2 to Friday 27 August 2021 the international exercise "ALEXANDER THE GREAT" was held in our country, with the participation of personnel of Special Operations Forces of Greece and the USA.
The co-training took place in two phases, with the first lasting from Monday 2 August to Friday 13 August in the wider land and sea area of Attica and the second from Monday 16 to Friday 27 August in the wider area of Magnesia.
The exercise was attended by personnel from the Greek side of Special Warfare Units and from the US Marine Corps.
This inclusive training is part of the overall planning of exercises / training that has already taken place and continues to take place under the updated Mutual Defense Cooperation Agreement (MDCA) with the US, and aims to upgrade the level of cooperation. , understanding and exchange of know-how between the participating forces, as well as enhancing the operational capabilities and interoperability of the Special Operations Forces in an allied context.
