Long time R&D and earlier investment are paying off now. Prachand is a good platform with a balance between cost and capability. This procurement Will achieve both economy of scale and Indigenization of a crucial capability. Only thing is now to see if HAL can deliver it efficiently within relevant timeframe.

New Delhi: State-run Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Safran Helicopter Engines have come together to jointly design, develop and manufacture an engine called ‘Aravalli’ to power India’s planned 13-ton Indian Multi-Role Helicopter (IMRH) and its naval variant, the Deck-Based Multi-Role Helicopter (DBMRH).
