The frigate "Salamis" is the first warship of our country that sailed to the new naval base named "July 3" in Gargoub, Egypt, after the completion of its mission and its replacement in the operation UNIFIL MAROPS (United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon) in the Eastern Mediterranean by the frigate "Kanaris".

The frigate "Salamis" sailed last Saturday to the new Egyptian base and sailed the next day to the port of Salamis, where it carried out joint training with the Egyptian frigate "ENS Alexandria" in the wider sea area north of the base. During this PASSEX joint training, communication, tactical image exchange, advanced maneuvering and maritime security were performed.

The relevant activities highlight the ever-increasing cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two countries as well as their role as pillars of stability and security in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, as emphasized in a relevant announcement of GEETHA.

Greece doesn't have OHP :)

That's an Egyptian one, and it's not modernized, same garbage 60ies radars and only SM-1. No ESSM.

Only modern thing on that ship is the fire control radar and phalanx CIWS

Point is, if this was a Greek or Turkish frigate, it would be modernized.
Egyptian procurement is just about buying new shiny things.

Look at Turkish Gabya class. Despite how ridiculously modernized it is, it's going to be retired and replaced by İstif class.
