This has been interesting to follow, wonder if anything will come of it or they find a way to squish this too:

It stated that the call lasted two minutes and 27 seconds, during which Mr Khan exchanged congratulatory remarks with the pilot, who stated on his own, without being questioned by the petitioner, that whatever was being shown on media was not even 30pc and that there had been 350 casualties on ground.
You gotta give it to the pakistanis in this regard...they definitely learned a thing or two from their chinese masters on how to supress voices and leaking out sensitive info

Its bad whichever way it was being claimed if you think about it.

There was either:

1) yet another "go to reel" to trot out (like MKI downing)...i.e successful execution on the IA forward bases supposedly targetted (rather than what the CAP forced them to abandon hastily).

2) there was something truth-wise that got rushed like doosra-banda all over again....w.r.t balakot.

3) mixing/conflation of these post haste in whatever way

This "organisation" hasn't come to anywhere close to proper terms to what they inflicted on their countrymen in East Pakistan....or what got inflicted on them in return for it.....aided in no part thanks to our own dumb "lets go back to normal" ego after war end.

You brush away that stuff, you get addicted to the mental process involved.

All that triggers different partial realities is the evidence that lies outside of it.

Skirmish situations like this one....kind of SOL on that.

Even Kargil it took multiple years for truth to come out to be somewhat acknowledged by them.

I still remember the (attempted) gaslighting done on international media by them for many years.

Consider how many jawans it involved for both sides?

So fat chance on even that happening for something less than 0.1% of that.

Doubt it man, lot of aerial encounters worldwide have never been resolved, esp if the politics calls for it.

Even with IAF-PAF....there is tons of stuff left unresolved from 71 and 65.

India simply has to go from 10 times (now) to 20 times and then 30 times on relevant funding and power levels.

Let them get stuck where they are and invent whatever process to get by however they want.

All kind of big miraculous victories happening everywhere outside of Dhaka they reported...they wont change.

Only thing that India should seek to change is deliver more indisputable evidence as possible even for the one-offs.

In a major boost to the country's air defence capabilities, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is deploying the first squadron of the S-400 air defence missile system in the Punjab sector.
"The first squadron is being deployed in the Punjab sector. The batteries of the first squadron would be capable of taking care of aerial threats from both Pakistan and China," government sources told ANI

Parts of the Russian missile system had started reaching India earlier this month and the unit is expected to be operationalized in the next few weeks, they said.

The S-400 air defence system was contracted for by India in a deal worth around ₹35,000 crore and five squadrons would be provided to India for tacking air threats from up to 400 km.

The first squadron deliveries are expected to be complete by the end of this year.

Sources said the equipment is being brought to India through both sea and air routes.

Sources said after the first squadron is deployed, the Air Force would start focusing on the Eastern borders along with providing resources for training of personnel within the country.

Indian Air Force officers and personnel have trained in Russia on the system.

The air defence system would give India an edge in South Asian skies as they would be able to take out enemy aircraft and cruise missiles from a 400 km distance.

The S-400 missile defence system is equipped with four different missiles which can engage enemy aircraft, ballistic missiles, and AWACS planes at 400 km, 250 km, the medium-range 120 km and the short-range 40 km.

Due to tough bargaining and negotiations, India managed to bring down the S-400 price by almost a billion dollars, sources said.

Slowly cut them down and then retire them.

Turkey has done the same with its f4 phantom.

France, India step up military allegiance with offer of more Rafale jets

IMG_20211226_210111.jpg

France has offered to arm India’s new aircraft carrier with Rafale jets as it looks to ramp up ties with its South Asian ally after Australia’s rejection of a submarine deal and nagging worries over China’s influence in the high seas.

Bilateral visits in recent weeks which also backed India’s pitch to indigenise military production also refreshed France’s interest in the world’s second largest arms importer.

“India and China are huge markets but since Beijing does not buy, India becomes vital to France,” said Anil Chopra, director-general of India's Centre for Air Power Studies military think tank.

“So France wants to win our hearts, our politicians and our military to be able to sell their jets and their equipment to us because ultimately the Indian air force cannot just have 36 Rafales,” Chopra told RFI.

The Rafale market

France has delivered 33 of the 36 Rafales as part of a 2016 deal worth seven billion Euros and its Defence Minister Florence Parly in a recent visit hoped to sell more to outfit India’s new aircraft carrier undergoing sea trials.

“We know that the aircraft carrier will soon be (there),” Parly said during her second visit in 15 months while India separately announced plans for the joint military production of French aircraft engines.

India in 2007 planned to buy 126 fighter jets but it was scaled down to 36 planes and France was chosen as the supplier.

Analyst Chopra argued India needed at least 36 additional Rafale jets to counter border threats from uneasy neighbours China and Pakistan.

The AUKUS factor

The developments came weeks after France was pushed out of a 58-billion-euro nuclear submarine deal with Australia when Canberra joined Britain and the US in an alliance known by its acronym AUKUS.

France said it would ramp up ties with India and Japan after the Australian fiasco in September.

“When you lose a friend, your friendship with your other friends becomes stronger," Christophe Penot, the French ambassador to the Indo-Pacific, was quoted as saying.

Others saw India’s slipping dependence on long-time weapons supplier Russia as another cause for France to rejoice.

Russia’s arms exports to India during 2015-2019 fell 16 percent to 56 percent while French deliveries rose by a staggering 715 percent in the same period.

But Anil Golani, a retired air vice marshal, argued India was keen on “strategic autonomy”, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s trip to Delhi 10 days before Parly’s December 17 visit.

“The old partnership continues and at the same time India as a sovereign nation wants to keep its options open without antagonising Russia while also building a strong partnership with other nations,” Golani told RFI.

Chinese Checkers

The prominent analyst added growing Chinese influence was the second factor bringing France and India closer.

“The major powers are worried how to contain that threat,” Golani added.

Indian diplomat Deepak Vohra believed Parly’s trip which followed a visit to Paris by her Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh reflected growing reliance of France in India in the neighborhood seas.

“The important thing is that one of the world’s important military powers... which is France which also has a huge footprint in the Indian Ocean and in the Pacific that now looks to India to counter China,” Vohra told local TV.

Emmanuel Lenain, French ambassador in Delhi, mirrored Vohra’s sentiments.

“The relation is better. What could be better I don’t know,” Lenain said as the two countries pledged to bolster maritime security.

France has emerged as the seventh largest foreign investor in India. More than 1,000 French companies are active in the country while 150 Indian firms now operate in France.

France was among the first to forge post Cold War strategic partnership with India and later backed Delhi after it tested nuclear weapons in 1998.
