A reminder:

INS Dhruv & all its sensors have been fully operationalized, meaning very accurate data was probably gathered from the MIRVs' individual trajectories & splashdowns in IOR.

So did the chinese...I'm sure they planted moles in all DRDO departments

The whereabouts of these ships aren't secret - they are publicly known. Let alone the Navy's knowledge.

There's a reason we scheduled the test now. We want them to see.

How do you build deterrence if your opponent has no knowledge of the credibility of your capabilities?

Did you know the Soviets & Americans used to test their SLBMs from zones which they knew the other could gather data so that they are appraised of each others' nuclear capabilities? This is standard practice.

When the Chinese do a test, you can bet INS Dhruv will be lurking in the SCS/ECS.

"The United States and India share a vision for an Indo-Pacific region that is free, open, secure, and prosperous. We continue to work as partners with India and with other countries in the region to achieve this vision," the US State Department said in a statement to ANI.

The State Department was replying to questions regarding the significance of the test on the stability of the Indo-Pacific region.

Agni-Prime tested again:

Apparently this was the last pre-induction trial. The Strategic Forces Command (SFC) was hands-on with this test.

So it seems the the MRBM-class deterrence delivery system intended toward Pakistan is set for a generational leap. The deterrence against Pakistan was till now being served by the old Agni-1 and Agni-2 MRBMs developed in the 80s and 90s respectively. They will be retired & replaced by something far better - being lighter, smaller, having more advanced penetration aids & of course a very high degree of maneuverability both inside & outside the atmosphere thanks to DACS + Fins.

Of course by the time it's inducted it'll probably receive a new designation...the 'Prime' label is always intended only for the Tech-Demo/testing phase.

Also, it seems SFC has determined that a MIRV bus is unnecessary for the deterrence equation toward Pakistan. So I wouldn't be surprised if the MIRVs will be limited to IRBMs & above.

Just MaRVs for Pakistan.
