i am gonna go bureaucracy and say nilgiri can merge them if he wants to or keep them separate and create this as kashmir exclusive. basically sent a file from my department to his department.

Almost 52% voting in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

51.76% turnout in first phase of crucial DDC polls in J&K, Valley records only 39% turnout

There are a total 280 constituencies in J&K, of which voting was conducted in 43 constituencies from 7 am to 2 pm in Phase I Saturday.

What are your thoughts on Art. 370 repeal? There was really too much noise at other place that made discussing it with (esp with other Indians) near impossible there...and I forgot where people lined up on it.

I support it. It was high time someone bit the bullet. The clampdown on rights was also to be expected. It's unfortunate and I wouldn't want my fellow citizens in Kashmir to be in lockdown mode for long. Pak isn't going to be able to do anything about it.

India has rubbished claims by Pakistan that it targeted a United Nations vehicle with two military observers in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Friday, calling them "baseless".

"The reports emerging from Pakistan side regarding attack on UN vehicles are completely false and factually incorrect. There was no firing from the Indian side in this sector today. Since movements of UN vehicles are known in advance, the question does not arise of any such firing. The allegations are baseless," sources in the Ministry of External Affairs said.


Given Pakistan's desperation to bring to internationalize Kashmir, it is quite possible that Pak Army attacked the UN Vehicle.
