Comparison of CH-3 and CH-5 lander/rover sizes.

View attachment 71687

Last month the Govt gave budget approval of $250 million for CH-4, including cost of 2 x LVM3 launches needed for it. The final spend amount might be slightly more but this is the official outlay.

As design goals become clearer, the CH-5/LUPEX rover is now going to be ~420 kg, a significant increase from previously estimated 350 kg.

This would make the LUPEX rover around the same mass as the US-made VIPER (430 kg), which is scheduled for a 2027 launch on a New Glenn.
