Yeah, NSG consists of 4 different units each specialized in a particular urban warfare

During DD's interview in NSG's Manesar HQ, it was revealed that NSG has a further strict and stringent selection process for their elite "Phantom Group" which are the crème of NSG...similar to Spetznaz's Alpha unit or US SEAL's DEVGRU

I doubt if they'd be deployed for any actual combat scenarios...maybe form the outer perimeter or something. I don't exactly see a point in spending a ton of money, time and resources only to train these women for showcase purposes
Maybe in small numbers, they have initiated the training but you are right over usefulness seems pretty limited at this point of time.
Female snipers played a huge role since the second world war ....

Female fighters even played an active role in the middle east wars...like a chunk of kurdish fighters consisted on women. Israeli forces have a good percentage of women since it's mandatory military service.

and this is due to their low populations which is why they had to employ women. India doesn't have that issue since we have scores of men who are ready to join the forces. It's better to use those funds and resources training men who can be effective in battles over utilizing women. The state of UP alone has population almost as much as pakistan with a high inequality in their sex ratio

Also, snipers are tortured the worst if caught. Imagine women snipers being caught...not to mention, public reaction on the death of women soldiers during such ops
