There is a couple issues about it.

Usually cruise missile engines start up by blowing air coming from speed. But Akıncı is quite slow compared to an F-16. Speed is not enough for turning the engine fan and start it.

Another issue is gliding. SOM travels like 80kms with gliding only. Slower launch speed shortens the gliding range. Maybe even slow enough for missile to "stall".

I don't think Akıncı launching SOM is a myth.

I don't think there is another example in worldwide. If the Turks can achieve this, I will congratulate them

These strategic weapons do not rely on windmilling as a source of starting the engines, they have pyrotechnic igniters to start the engine...

The igniter is likely to be in the role of a spark plug used to start the combustion and does not have anything to do with providing air for the combustion, so ram air is still required. By the way Akıncı's top speed is mach 0.296 and SOM has capabilities to start at various altitude and mach number conditions.

This isn't new technology, the use of such pyro igniters is well documented. Especially on how they work.

This seems to be used to complement the lack of ram air to drive the turbine fans. More like the first gear of the manual transmission car to get the car to move beating inertia. From all we knew from past disclosures about SOM ram air is essential for engine start. Perhaps a disclosure about this can be made down the road.
