"CATS Systems are not only for domestic customers. In addition, two foreign customers have been exported to the country together with the TB2 platform. CATS E/O Systems are exhibited at the Teknofest fairground with AKINCI Platforms."

In the statement made by General Manager Haluk Bayraktar, “With the PD-222, AKINCI will be able to stay in the air for much longer, but of course, its take-off weight will not be 6 tons. The first flight of AKINCI-C will be carried out in 2022. PD-222 is a very good engine, we will use it in TB3 as PD-170.

We are making special radars for Bayraktar TB3 to land on the ship, much more sensitive landing will be possible. The length of the runway of TCG ANADOLU is sufficient for the take-off of Bayraktar TB3. Necessary analyzes were made. Both MAM-L and MAM-T will be used in TB3.” statements were included.

This projects literally will creat a new concept of naval vessels if succeeded ... A drone carrier .. it would be highly demanded vessel .. far more than helicopter carriers ... And will pose a great danger to other navies

Capable of landing and taking off from short runways
That last sentence is the operative sentence. If that is true and can be done without the assistance of arresting wires then it is a revolutionary leap in carrier based plane operations.
Taking off with powerful engine and achieving sufficient lift with the help of wings and sk-lift, is possible without the necessity of a catapult system.
But since WW2, almost all aircraft has been using arresting cables to come to a stop on the deck. I really would like to see how this is going to be achieved without them. To bring stalling speed down and applying heavy braking may not be enough. At sea, surface side winds can toss a plane across deck easily. Wires hold it in place.
There are companies like YDS in Turkey that produce portable and fixed solutions to use arresting cables at airports. Some of them are invasive some are just laid across and tethered at the ends.
I guess we will see when it happens!

Like Akıncı, the MTOw of MIUS started to increase. New MTOW figure is 6 tons.
There is a trade off between MTOW and speed, mach 0.6 is pretty much the lower limit for a jet powered aircraft. It depend on what the user needs to use the available power for either MTOW or the speed of the plane. Now the user needs a plane that can land on a very short strip. If need be another variety of MIUS could fly faster with less payload. Until of course a more powerful engine enters the picture when you can envision the whole range of capabilities from scratch.
