The American Frost and Sullivan group, a research and consulting firm focused on market research and analysis, said in a market research report that “Morocco is about to become a weapons (producing) country within the coming years…at least, it will host foreign factories, starting in the year 2025.”

This MRO center is a big step forward on the scale of the Moroccan Army and Morocco.

It will be a modern center, with western standards, for the maintenance of our entire fleet, from transport planes to fighter planes. The center will be installed near the Benslimane . The facility will have 15,000 square meters. Morocco has signed a strategic partnership with Belgian firms Sabca and Sabena Aerospace, alongside American giant Lockheed Martin, for the maintenance and support of F-16 and C-130 Hercules aircraft. It will allow maintenance of all MAF aircraft, at all levels: A, B, C and especially D-Check. We were obliged before to send our C-130s abroad for Check-D, the major maintenance visit, but now we will take the matters into our own hands.!

“This project represents the first achievement in the framework of the recent law aimed at enabling the Kingdom of Morocco to develop a military-industrial and defence activity and to draw strategic and economic benefits from it,” Blueberry Group stated.

Achievment from 2018

El Othmani said that the Mohammed VI-B satellite, launched on Tuesday night, is a “Moroccan achievement to be proud of.”
MOHAMMED VI-B satellite is part of the space program the King of Morocco decided in 2013. The realization of this program, spreading over a five-year period, was entrusted to the consortium Thales Alenia Space and Airbus.

Moroccan engineers and technicians were specifically trained in Morocco and abroad to manage the Mohammed VI-B satellite in the same way as Mohammed VI-A.

Morocco is the third African country to have a reconnaissance satellite after Egypt and South Africa. However, Morocco will be the first African country to possess a constellation of earth surveillance satellites equipped with a very high resolution.

The Mohammed VI-B satellite is capable of taking up to 1,000 images per day with a resolution of up to 70 centimeters.

I am curious, for now what are the weapons morocco produces locally?
I'm very curious about how our defense industry will expand as well. Our defense budget is 11 billion (Procurement)+ 6 billion ( Personnel/Bases) this year so we have enough resources. Right now the only information we got publically is that we are now manufacturing drones and different ammunition. We don't have any additional information, but some Moroccan leakers claim that we also have projects in the land vehicle part. IFV has been leaked, but no information.

Morocco will be the first African country to carry out maintenance operations and manufacture spare parts for Apache helicopters.

From the extension of the program for the acquisition of Apache helicopters, it comes to implementing the royal vision aimed at modernization and building Moroccan capacities in the defense industry sector. This agreement relates in particular to strengthening the independence of the Royal Air Force in terms of measurement, manufacture, complex repair of various spare parts, and superstructures. This agreement will give Morocco complete independence with regard to Apache spare parts, as well as the maintenance that will take place locally,

It also reflects the desire of the two parties to consolidate the existing partnership between Morocco and the American company (Boeing) through the implementation of joint strategic projects while encouraging the emergence of an industrial and technological base for defense in the Kingdom.

The agreement also promotes cooperation in the field of research, development, and transfer of technologies through the qualification of Moroccan engineering offices in the aviation sector, as well as the establishment of a research center for advanced additive manufacturing 4.0, in partnership with the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Benguerir.

The compensation agreement concluded today provides for the completion of the Boeing Company with qualified local manufacturers of a volume of spare parts sources with a value of 150 million dollars.

Rumors for today

- Barak MX together, and PULS delivers have already started or will start within a couple of days.

- Sea breaker coastal defense is secured, and the LORA Ballistic missile may have been secured.

- Negotiations are continuing regarding 2 FREMM frigates from Italy+ with interests in the OMEGA, and SIGMA from Holland.

- F15 is on the table, most likely the F15-EX @Gary

The new head of Israeli diplomacy in Morocco, Ambassador Shai Cohen, said on Tuesday that there is " deep cooperation " with Morocco in the military field that is "growing rapidly" and is another reflection of the depth of relations and interests between the two countries. "There is very deep defense cooperation. I can't reveal everything for obvious reasons, but I can tell you that there are very big deals going on between Israel and Morocco in very important areas of military cooperation," Cohen said in a press conference. This cooperation is happening, according to the ambassador. "In practically all areas of defense that can be thought of, from border control to the air force, air defense and all kinds of ballistic capabilities" and above all to present "the most advanced defense technology to Morocco"

Elbit systems inaugurates 2 production units in Morocco (Casablanca)

Nice 😁 😁 Seems like we will have 2 factories where one is for the production of heavy ammunition, and missiles of the Puls launcher, and for future procurement, we have made while the second factory would be producing weapon systems as a whole. The production of the missiles that the Puls launcher carries, as well as other ammunition, is confirmed.

The latter is just based on my assumptions. I hope we produce radars, artillery pieces, drones, and other platforms in Morocco.

No one knows what we'll produce , but as Shai Cohen said , they gave and will give us their most advanced technologies like border control , aerial weapons , air defense systems and all kinds of ballistic weapon systems , these ballistic missiles are the LORA SRBM (confirmed by many trusted sources) , and another undisclosed ballistic missile , also we got air munitions from them (the deal was inked when Tomer Bar and Aviv Kochavi visited ben Guerir AFB ) along with other major deals concerning the artillery , air defense and the air force

Excellent! It is refreshing to see Morocco catching up so fast after a late start.

Just hoping BD could follow the example.

Rumors about Morocco being in agreement on several issues regarding production in Morocco with Brazil.

- the riachulo submarine
- the Astros missile launcher.
- the Super Tucano light attack aircraft.
- the Embraer C-390 military cargo plane
- the Man-sup anti-ship missile

In minute 1.24 we can see the map of Morocco. Is this a hint that Morocco has acquired the Astros missile launchers from Brazil?

It is noteworthy that Morocco had previously signed an agreement with Boeing to transfer technology regarding Apache helicopters to Morocco. Following up Morocco signed an agreement with both Pratt & Whitney and GE/General Electric.

Pratt & Whitney will launch an affiliate called Pratt & Whitney Maroc (PWM), in Casablanca, to manufacture detailed static and structural machined parts for various engine models. More details about GE will come later, however, both PW, and GE will open their plants in the industrial city, of Casablanca.

Update: PW will open a factory, however, GE seems to be opening a marketing/sales center at first.

The first Moroccan pod was produced in Morocco in the early 1980s. It was developed by Aero Maroc industrie, and used on the F1, and F5 fighter jets that the Moroccan air force operated. Little information about the pod itself however we know that it contained a SLAR/IRLS radar.

Good news!

The factory of Pratt & Whitney will be completed by mid-2025 in the Med Park area in Casablanca. The value of the investment is approximately 70 million dollars, where it will produce fixed and detailed structural parts for various models of aircraft engines, which will allow the creation of 200 to 250 jobs when it reaches its maximum capacity by 2030.
