I hope you guys know Punjab :) or at least can Bhangra
I am not Punjabi and honestly I don't like bhangra. In fact I hate it. I am more into British/Euro 1980s/90s music but do have a eclectic taste. For music from Pakistan I like traditional ethnic folk from Khyber Pakhtunkwa and Punjab. I like Attan/Dhamal as opposed to bhangra which I associate with Punjabi Sikhs even if it followers in Pakistan Punjab. Remixes also are appealing as they re-invigorate music that might have gone stale. For Punjabi nobody can beat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

I saw the news come in and was saddened. I played cpl of my favourite Van Halen songs in tribute and memory.

The guy was one hell of a guitarist.

Little factoid, You may know this already.

He played guitar on Michael Jackson’s “beat it“ song

Yes this is well known I think if you are a rock fan like me.

Most great musicians.... 99% of them, I count them by their best music that I remember....but Sir Edward is in the godly 1%.

He represents something quite revolutionary in the field....something far deeper than his most famous tunes etc....because a huge ton of rock music after him owes the very playing style and innovation to him. There is a deep eternal legacy he left.

You see, while Emperor Jimi is secure in his #1 throne...... who the occupant ought to be in #2 is a 3-way struggle for me between Page, Clapton and Van Halen...and you will get different answer from me at different stages in life (though it will be between those 3 all the time for no. 2 spot) He really is at that kind of apex I feel.
