The 3-hour NSC meeting, chaired by President Erdogan, ended. Written explanation was given.​

The statement made after the meeting is as follows:

1. The board was informed about determination, determination and successful operations against all kinds of threats and dangers against our national unity and solidarity, especially PKK / KCK-PYD / YPG, FETO and DAESH terrorist organizations, at home and abroad.

2. Human rights violations against the Turkish minority and the inhumane practices of Greece targeting asylum seekers were addressed; Despite our calls for dialogue Greece is still leading anti-Turkey campaign. Greece was invited to fulfill the requirements of good neighborly relations and to respect international law.

3. Our sincere call for the development of policies that will ensure the establishment and continuity of the environment of stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and solutions in accordance with international law was once again expressed, and attention was drawn to the importance of adopting a common approach that observes the mutual rights and interests of the countries in the region; non-regional countries and international actors have been invited to adopt a neutral and prudent attitude.

MGK Statement: “Operations to neutralize terrorist organizations along our southern borders and to make our borders safe will continue uninterruptedly”​

In the written statement made after the National Security Council meeting chaired by President Erdogan, it was emphasized that Turkey will maintain its stance on using the right of self-defense stemming from international law, and said, “In this framework, we will continue to aim to neutralize terrorist organizations along our southern borders and to make our borders safe in the coming period. The regular meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) was held at the Presidential Complex under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

COUNTERTERRORISM

In the written statement made after the meeting, it was stated that in the meeting, the PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETO and DAESH terrorist organizations, and all kinds of threats and dangers against Turkey's national unity and solidarity, with determination, determination and success both at home and abroad. It was noted that the operations carried out and the activities carried out were evaluated.

THE NATIONAL SECURITY BOARD MEETED ON AUGUST 5, 2021 UNDER THE PRESIDENCY OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY, RECEP TAYYIP ERDOĞAN.
AT THE MEETING;

1. THE FIGHTING AGAINST FOREST FIRES WHICH ARE ACTIVE AND CAUSED SERIOUS LOSSES IN OUR COUNTRY AND MANY PLACES IN THE WORLD WERE REVIEWED; BEYOND THE NATURAL PROGRESS OF THE EVENT, THE SECURITY DIMENSION, INCLUDING DISINFORMATION CAMPAIGNS IN AND OUT OF OUR COUNTRY, WAS ALSO EVALUATED AND ADDITIONAL MEASURES TAKEN AND THAT CAN BE TAKEN IN THIS FRAMEWORK ARE DISCUSSED.

2. INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED TO THE COUNCIL REGARDING OUR OPERATIONS AND BORDER SECURITY MEASURES WHICH ARE CONTINUING IN AND OUT OF THE COUNTRY AGAINST ALL KINDS OF THREATS AND DANGER AGAINST OUR NATIONAL UNITY AND ESPECIALLY THE PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETO AND DAESH TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS.

DESPITE ALL THE GOOD FAITH WARNINGS OF TURKEY, STATES THAT USE TERRORISM AS A FOREIGN POLICY TOOL AND ESTABLISH IGNORANT RELATIONS WITH TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS LIKE THE PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG TERRORIST ORGANIZATION, CONTRIBUTE TO CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY AND THEIR CRIMINAL RELATIONS WERE CONDEMNED. IT IS REMINDED THAT BEARING WITH THE DESTRUCTIVE CONSEQUENCES IN RESULT OF THESE RELATIONS ON THEIR SOIL IS A MATTER OF TIME.

4. ON THE FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE NATIONAL RESISTANCE AGAINST THE TREACHEROUS COUP ATTEMPT ON 15 JULY, THE STEPS TAKEN IN THE FIGHT AGAINST FETULLAH TERRORIST ORGANIZATION ARE EVALUATED; IT IS STRESSED THAT ACTIVITIES INTENDED TO DISPOSE THIS NETWORK OF TREACHERY WITH ALL ITS ELEMENTS IN THE COUNTRY AND ABROAD WILL CONTINUE WITH ALL THE INSTITUTIONS AND CAPABILITIES OF THE STATE, WITHOUT COMPROMISE AND RESOLUTION.

5. THE WILL OF EQUAL, SOVEREIGN, INDEPENDENT TWO-STATE SOLUTION ON THE CYPRUS ISSUE ADVOCATED BY TURKEY AND THE TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTH CYPRUS WILL ADD PEACE AND PROSPERITY TO BOTH COMMUNITIES ON THE ISLAND; THE ACTORS PARTIES TO THE ISSUE HAVE BEEN INVITED TO BE PART OF THE SOLUTION, INSTEAD OF ADVOCATING FOR THEIR AGGRESSIVE APPROACH.

6. IT IS EXPRESSED THAT ARMENIA SHOULD AVOID ITS AGGRESSIVE TALK AND ACTIONS AND USE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR PEACE AND STABILITY THAT HAVE RISEN AFTER A LONG TIME IN THE SOUTH CAUCASUS; THE ARMENIAN ADMINISTRATION HAS BEEN CALLED TO DEVELOP COOPERATION WITH REGIONAL COUNTRIES, AND TO STICK TO THEIR COMMITMENTS.

THE NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL MEETED ON AUGUST 5, 2021 UNDER THE PRESIDENCY OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY, RECEP TAYYIP ERDOĞAN.
AT THE MEETING;

1. INFORMATION WAS PRESENTED TO THE COUNCIL REGARDING THE SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONS WITHIN OUR BORDERS AND ABROAD AGAINST DANGERS TARGETING OUR NATIONAL UNITY AND SECURITY MAINLY PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETO AND DAESH TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS.

2. WE REINSTATE OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS AN ACTOR IN SYRIA TO ENSURE THE SECURITY AND WELLFARE OF THE SYRIAN PEOPLE; ATTACKS PARTICULARRY AGAINST CIVILIANS, DAMAGING TO THE STABILITY AND LONGEVITY OF PEACE ARE ENDANGERING THE SENSITIVE BALANCE IN THE AREA AND COULD PREVENT LONG STAYING PEACEFUL RESOLUTION.

3. IT IS STATED THAT IGNORING THE GOOD WILL AND CONSTRUCTIVE APROACH OF TURKEY REGARDING THE ISSUES IN THE AGEAN SEA AND THE MEDITERRANEAN IS AGAINST THE PRINCIPLE OF EQUITY IN FRONT OF THE INTERNATIONAL LAW AND ALSO IS AGAINST THE LONG TERM INTERESTS OF THE EUROPEAN UNION; IT IS ALSO STATED THAT SUPPORTIG THE AGGRESSIVE APROACH OF GREECE AND THE SOUTH CYPRUS ADMINISTRATION WILL RESULT IN DEEPENING THE EXISTING ISSUES IN THE REGION.

THE LATEST SITUATION IN AFGANISTAN IS EVALUATED; IT IS STATED THAT TURKEY WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE PROSPERITY OF THE BROTHERLY AFGHAN NATION BY OPERATING THE KABUL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND ALSO BY OTHER INITIATIVES; WE CALL ON THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO ACT IN A COORDINATED WAY WHEN IT COMES TO PREVENTING HUMANITARIAN CRISES AND ALSO TAKE FURTHER RESPONSIBILITY ON THESE ISSUES.

5. IT IS STATED THAT INCREASING TERROR, INTERNAL CONFLICTS, POLITICAL DESTABILISATION ARE THE MAIN REASONS TO PREVENT THE DESERVED WELFARE AND PEACE OF THE AFRICAN PEOPLE LIVING ON THE AFRICAN CONTINENT; IT IS STATED THAT TURKEY WILL CONTINUE ITS SUPPORT IN ENSURING THE WELFARE AND SECURITY OF THE PEOPLE IN AFRICA.

6. TURKEY REAFIRMS ITS RESPONSIBILITIES IN COMBATING ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE AND CALLS FOR COORDINATED GLOBAL ACTION; TURKEY WILL DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO COMBAT THAT DANGER OF WHICH THE EVIDENCES ARE THE INCREASING NUMBER OF FOREST FIRES, FLOODS, INCREASING DROUGHT AND OTHERS.
