Why China sends the turbines to germany and not Türkiye directly.
Honestly, first time hearing thatWhy China sends the turbines to germany and not Türkiye directly.
Peeps I'd like to ask yall some shit.
See Akkuyu's agreement is actually public for us to view on the resmi gazete (a type of official journal for laws and such to be promulgated for the 1,5 non- turkish peeps reading) because the constitution states that all international agreements (barring few exceptions) approved by the government must also pass through the assembly to be approve the approval. "Onaylamayı uygun bulmak". Lmao.
Anyway the third clause's end goes
"2.23. Türkiye'deki nükleer yakıt üretim tesislerinin kurulması ve işletimi de dahil olmak üzere nükleer yakıt döngüsü;
2.24. Teknoloji transferi ve
2.25. Lisanslama ile nükleer tesisler ve aktivitelerin ve radyasyon emniyeti ve güvenliğinin denetimi alanında bilgi ve deneyim alışverişi."
Tech transfer in 2.24 is stated.
Yet I hear absolutely nothing about engineers being trained anywhere or anything of the sort, instead we hear drama about Russians calling it theirs and quite frankly flaunting it.
Do y'all believe that the government actually hopes to receive the capability to make nuclear reactors of our own from the Ruskies or is it a deal behind a deal sort of a thing, like the S-400? Because why else go hail-mary with every reactor maker ever? To diversify risks?
Arabelle steam turbine. Made in France. Developed by Alstom, sold to GE Steam Power with retained IP rights and now again fully French owned as „Arabelle Solutions“ controlled by EDF.
Please add a short explanation for the English speakers.
Germans are being A**holes again; thus, the project may be delayed for a couple of months, and Turkey is now to replace the German equipment with Chinese equipment; how's that for an explanation? Please add a short explanation for the English speakers.
Turkey isn't doing anything. Akkuyu is not a Turkish project, Turkey doesn't pay for anything for Akkuyu. Per the news, due to German parts still not being sent months later, Rosatom have now ordered equivalent parts from Chinese firms.Germans are being A**holes again; thus, the project may be delayed for a couple of months, and Turkey is now taking orders to replace the German equipment with Chinese equipment; how's that for an explanation.
True, Akkuyu is just a Russian Nuclear Power located in Turkey. If they don't to provide us energy, we cannot do anything about it.Akkuyu is not a Turkish project, Turkey doesn't pay for anything for Akkuyu.
By design, if it doesn't supply energy, Rosatom doesn't get paid. And it can only supply energy to Turkey, so only way for it to make money and recoup its 25 billion dollar cost is to sell energy to Turkey. We can use other energy sources, we have a huge LNG sector and US is always ready to sell.True, Akkuyu is just a Russian Nuclear Power located in Turkey. We need a "WTF ?" smiley ....Arabelle steam turbine. Made in France. Developed by Alstom, sold to GE Steam Power with retained IP rights and now again fully French owned as „Arabelle Solutions“ controlled by EDF.
A bigger one as well, because it's the Germans hampering the installation with export controls, not the French, who as usual is more than happy to do business. We need a "WTF ?" smiley ....
Yes but, If Russia controls the supply 10% of your electricity production, that is a very big dependence. For 400 Russia and Turkey were in conflict, we never had friendly relations. There are still too many potential sources of conflicts between us. Will we be able to shot down another Russian plane that violates our airspace? There are rumors about Russia preparing a big operation in Idlib, will we be able to do anything about it with this much dependence to Russia. And, and, in addition to Akkuyu, Russia is building a second NPP to Sinop. We will be dependant on Russia in 20% of our electricity production. Total political failure.By design, if it doesn't supply energy, Rosatom doesn't get paid. Kudos to Putin. His government subdued the Turkish government without even paying a price, even getting paid by Turkey while doing it.
We can use other energy sources
10%+10% is a significant portion of electricity production. You can’t simply replace that much of your energy supply in a few years. Do you remember when Iran cut off our natural gas, and we couldn't keep our industry running? Any conflict with Russia would cripple our economy, thus force our government to make concessions to prevent it.
