1 KKB Gun Contact in Intan Jaya Shot Dead by the Nemangkawi Task Force

A shootout occurred between the Nemangkawi Task Force (Satgas) and the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Pisiga Village, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua, Monday (6/12/2021). As a result of the gunfight that occurred at around 14.15 WIT, one member of the Undius KKB group on behalf of Marten Belau was shot and killed.

The Head of Public Relations of the Papuan Police, Kombes Pol. Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said that previously the Nemangkawi Task Force personnel conducted an investigation into the existence of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

"During the investigation, there was a firefight between the Nemangkawi Task Force personnel and the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). During the shootout, the personnel managed to incapacitate one KKB member known as Marten Belau. From the results of the investigation, one member of the Undius group KKB on behalf of Marten Belau died The world is in place. Next, the Nemangkawi Task Force personnel return to the Command Post," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Pol. Ahmad Musthofa Kamal.

Kombes Pol Ahmad Musthofa Kamal said that after the gunfight the situation in Intan Jaya Regency was safe and conducive.

Joint personnel of the TNI and Polri continue to patrol and guard areas prone to crime to narrow the space for the perpetrators to carry out their actions.

"It is appealed to the entire community to jointly maintain Kamtibmas in Intan Jaya Regency so that it remains safe and conducive. To groups who do not agree with them, they must surrender themselves immediately, because the security forces will continue to take firm and measured action against the perpetrators," he said.

I wasn't aware there was so much terrorism in Papua and the internet isn't very helpful in getting a balanced perspective since it's all pretty much "Indonesia bad genocide slaughter oppression" for the first 50 pages of Google results. Like, OK, but I wanna see what the Indonesians are saying.

The blood was spilled was true . And yet , targetted progrom ?? Somebody cooking's something here . During soeharto's reigns everybody get the special treatment even the javanese ... Say what you will about Us indonesian . But , we are genuienly consider the papuans as indonesian ... No more and no less . Colored skin and different tradition ?? There's something to do about Human Rights In Papua, yes all of them need to be solved anytime soon. This is the issue what goverment, need to be solved anytime soon. Legacy of 35 years of single leader in this country.

About genocide, i think it was over hype. Hoax, and the news were homemade to suppress Indonesian Goverment (it works duribg East timor conflict) .
No such en masse masacre like in Africa ever happend. The one who write in wikipedia hundreds of thousand papuans were killed, perhaps need fix their brain and imagination.
Then comes racial supremacy, the top list is white, black, yellow, and brown. If you were brown, there's less chance your statement will be heard around the world. Thats why you find much talk the bad thing do to papuans.

As i said before there's HR issue need to be solved. Not to mention The Terorrist called themself Papuan Independence Movement, has cause many many civillian death, they tend to kill both papuan and non papuan ethnic, even make a village full of papuan residence held as hostage as the resident starve to death.

No no no... The infrastructure isnt just yet prepared.

I mean hello's air support is handy, but kind of Aerial COIN nor C/UAV isnt ready yet. Beside the operational cost of COIN and C/UAV for such terrain and conditions isn't cheap enough.

That's why in some occassion The army only employed quadcopter UAV to reconaisance and the executor still in Field Soldier hand.

KKB Burns School in Bintang Mountains

The police stated that an armed criminal group (KKB) burned the SMPN school building in Serambakon District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua on Tuesday (14/12).

In that incident, there was also a gun battle between KKB and the Pamrahwan Task Force Battalion A Regiment III Pioneers around the location.

"On Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 08.30 WIT located in the Serambakon District, Gunung Bintang Regency, there was a school building burning and a gunfight," said Head of the Nemangkawi Operations Public Relations Task Force, Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal to reporters, Tuesday (14/12).

Kamal said that officers heard three shots fired around the area so they carried out monitoring.

30 minutes later, Pamrahwan Task Force personnel saw smoke rising from the Serambakon State Junior High School Building. Allegedly, the action was carried out by armed separatist groups who are now designated as terrorists by the government.

"At 09.30 WIT, several more shots were heard leading to the Pamrahwan Task Force Post from a distance of 700 m so that the Pamrahwan Task Force personnel fired back and there was a firefight," he added.

Police, he said, are currently pursuing the perpetrators of the arson.

"There were no casualties from this incident. The TNI-Polri security forces continue to guard at vulnerable points and entrances to the Armed Criminal Group," he said.

This incident is based on information from the police. CNNIndonesia.com has not received any information or versions of other parties regarding this incident.

For information, there was also a shooting incident at the Brimob Post in Serambakon District the day before the arson.

The shooting was allegedly carried out by the KKB led by Lamek Taplo who was in the Bintang Mountains area.

The West Papua National Liberation Army-Free Papua Organization (TPNPB-OPM) acknowledged that it was responsible for the attack on the security post in the Serambakon area. (mjo/gil)
