RTE: "We will work harder to transform our relations with Azerbaijan into an institutionalized economic and political integration model. We will launch new projects that will strengthen our ties with the Turkic world with the goal of 'unity in language, ideas and work', which was outlined by the late Ismail Gaspirali about 1.5 centuries ago."

It is important and noteworthy that these words belong to the institution of the presidency. And, these words should be evaluated together with the following: https://www.aa.com.tr/en/world/turkic-council-eyes-forming-united-states-of-turkic-world/2192579

I have written a lot under this heading, my dear friends have underlined very important strategic issues and developments. I am not going to repeat all this, but it is quite clear what the deepening integration step by step, the unity of language/alphabet, culture and history, combined with security, economic and political integration, means and where it is pushing us regarding the common destiny of states. Full EU-like economic integration and even a common currency are goals that are no longer far away. A union of states that is self-sufficient in energy, raw materials, intermediate products and production functions is not a utopian goal.

But at the core, we seem to be on the verge of bigger developments. More precisely, the main element that will form the core of this union and create its gravitational pull seems to be much closer. In the next 20 years, a 100 million tripartite federation of Azerbaijan, the Turkish Republic of Cyprus and Turkiye is no longer a dream. After cultural integration, security integration has been realized to a great extent. Now, political and economic integration will be the next stage of Azerbaijan-Turkiye integration.
Erdogan is the last person I would've expected to cite Ismail Gaspirali considering that his ideals are basically the polar opposite of everything that Erdogan supports.

“Gen Munir appreciated standard of training and readiness of Uzbekistan military forces and their understanding of regional security issues,” says ISPR

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir called on Uzbekistan’s top civil and military leadership and emphasised enhancing mutual training cooperation and intelligence sharing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the military’s media wing, the army chief arrived in Uzbekistan on a two-day official visit aimed at “enhancing military-to-military cooperation and defence collaboration”.

During the trip, COAS Gen Munir called on Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, defence minister and chairman and secretary of the State Security Service of the country.

During the meetings, the army chief emphasised enhancing mutual training cooperation and intelligence sharing, read the statement.

“Gen Munir appreciated the standard of training and readiness of the Uzbekistan military forces and their understanding of regional security issues.”

Earlier upon arrival at the Ministry of Defense, the COAS was given a warm welcome and presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent.

He also laid a floral wreath at the memorial complex of martyrs in Tashkent.

In July, Gen Munir visited Tehran. During the trip, the army chief and his Iranian counterpart vowed to eradicate “terrorism in border areas”, said the military’s media wing.

According to the ISPR, the army chief had detailed meetings with the military leadership of the neighbouring country including Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri during his “successful” two-day visit.

Both the military commanders agreed that “terrorism is a common threat to the region in general and both countries in particular”.

“They vowed to eradicate the menace of terrorism in the border areas through intelligence sharing and effective actions against the terrorists' networks, and explore avenues for enhancing cooperation in the security domain,” the ISPR added.

The army's information wing also said that Gen Munir called on Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahain.

The Iranian leaders and the army chief discussed the significance of Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations for regional peace and stability during the meeting.

Think tanks from Turkic states meet in Kazakhstan for talks

Head of Organization of Turkic States, representatives and diplomats from several states including Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan attend meeting

Think tanks from Turkic countries convened for a high-level meeting in Kazakhstan's capital Astana on Thursday.

Nuh Yilmaz, chief advisor to Turkish foreign minister and head of the Center for Strategic Research (SAM) under the Foreign Ministry, and his delegation attended the ninth meeting of the Official Foreign Policy Research Centers of the Member and Observer States of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

According to a written statement issued by the Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Studies, a state institution which hosted the meeting, among the attendees were OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev, representatives and diplomats from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Hungary as well.

In his speech at the special session of the meeting, Yilmaz said that the OTS has undergone a rapid transformation since its establishment.

Trade routes have changed and Asia has come to the fore in the world economy, he argued, adding that they should not miss these opportunities presented to them by history and geography.

The official further said that the importance of transportation networks and connection roads around the world has increased, and that the most important reason why the Turks, who were active on the route in the past thousand years, are no longer so was that the Silk Road was replaced by sea routes.

He emphasized that in a period when land routes gained importance again, the Turkic world was again at the epicenter of these trade routes and had an opportunity to regain its former importance.

Yilmaz further underlined that they would either take advantage of this opportunity or leave it and wait for the opportunities that will arise again a few centuries later.

The official, who also held bilateral and multilateral meetings on the margins of the meeting, also met with Omuraliev.

In their one-on-one meeting, Yilmaz and Omuraliev discussed the joint projects that think tanks in the Turkic world can undertake in the coming period.
