Libya's Chamber of Commerce and Industry has caused outrage after receiving a delegation from the United Arab of Emirates (UAE), the primary figure accused of driving Libya into a civil war.
The Association for Families of the Volcano of Rage Martyrs has decried the visit made under the pretext of "trade exchange" and said the chamber should be assessing the businesses affected by Haftar's aggression who launched his offensive on the western region with full and public support from the UAE.
It expressed concern that such actions would affect the course of justice in light of the lawsuits filed against those involved in the aggression on Tripoli at the local and foreign levels.
Such reprehensible acts could undermine the victims' rights and deepen more the wounds of their families, the statement reads.
Meanwhile, The Alabria Union demanded in a separate statement, the government, business owners, and Chambers of Commerce and Industry refrain from any cooperation with the UAE before discussing its intervention in Libya, demanding the gulf state to apologize and compensate for the violations it committed.
The union stressed it would resort to all legally available means to counter this trend, saying it constitutes a flagrant violation of Libyan sovereignty and does not take into account the legitimate rights of the victims, the wounded, nor the Libyan people as a whole.
