TF6000 is a military class engine. It is not really suitable for passenger aircrafts. Military class engines are low bypass engines that are more akin to turbojets. Passenger planes use turbofans with high bypass ratios. Not taking in to account the certification issues, a passenger aircraft’s turbofan has a much larger fan than a military engine’s.![]()

Which engine is being tested, the TF-6000 or the TF-10000?TEI is preparing to test aviation engines in the mountains in the East with the mobile engine test bench it has developed. The system is expected to be loaded on trucks and transported to the mountains.
With the first test carried out this year, aviation engines will be tested under realistic conditions at 17,000 to 20,000 feet.

IP rights are not mentioned at all, because it is difficult for them to grant such rights. Although, they must know that with advancing technologies, countries will eventually produce these engines.
Considering the number of sanctions the Turkish defense Industry has faced made IP rights all or none thing for Türkiye. There is no guarantee that engine sales will not be disrupted 20 years later. We simply can not stomach another Altay Power Pack issue.Even without the IP rights having a company that produces 5th gen engines inside Turkiye or India would still be extremely beneficial for Turkiye and India.
Projects like this give developing countries access to more advanced military tech trends.
