On July 9, 2021, Rosatom's Technical Academy announced that representatives from the Bangladesh Army concluded a two-week training course "Physical Protection of Nuclear Facilities" at the Academy's Global Nuclear Security and Safety Institute. During the course, Bangladeshi officers lead by Brigadier General Abdullah Al Yusuf were briefed on the structure and development of the system of physical protection of nuclear facilities, as well as the key international regulations.

In addition to the lectures, the course included practical training with the physical protection equipment at the Technical Academy's training ground and laboratories.

Since 2020, Bangladesh Army oversees the creation of the physical protection system of the country's first nuclear power plant Rooppur. Eleron, a Rosatom company specializing in the development of physical protection systems for nuclear sites, provides its assistance to Bangladesh.

On June 7, 2021, Eleron awarded a 3.2 million Ruble (USD 43 600) contract to a Bangladeshi company National Electric BD for logistics support to Eleron's work on the establishment of the physical protection system of Rooppur NPP.

Rosatom sees professional training as a logical next step in the cooperation on the construction of the nuclear power plant.
