It is said the Cessna ('s) are for radar tests

Is Tusas not a bit late with the order?

"Textron Aviation announced Thursday that it has received an order from Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) for one special mission Cessna Citation Longitude and two special mission Cessna Citation Latitude jets. The aircraft will be fitted with special flight inspection calibration equipment and used by the DHMI (General Directorate of State Airports Authority) in Turkey to inspect regional airport navigation aids."

Greece has acquired a full squadron of Rafales and got the Viper upgrade packages as well. Egypt has been on a shopping spree to, so it makes sense to go for existing proven platform that have matured instead of waiting for our own to mature and evolve into its final form.

I want also answer also this special part.
Many people react like we should or need to buy extra aircraft because A or B have bought some.

Why? Do you guys think a few aircraft will change the balances? We have the life example with Russia and Ukraine, did Russia acquire absolute air superiority?
With purchased aircraft and limited number of foreign missiles we will achieve absolute nothing. We need aircraft that we can supply with an infinite number of missiles / ammunition that our own companies can build. Even with 40 new F16 we run in the same limitations, F35 idem if not more.

Our people need to understand that Turkey can become only a serious power with own made fighter jets, own missiles and own ammo. Our drones are the perfect example!

Developing ,testing and manufacturing a fighter jet is a decade long process. If u want to maintain parity then import is the only option.

For TFx yes, for Hurjet not.

Parity can still be uphold by upgrading existing F16's to block 70 and none of those surrounding countries, be it Greece or Egypt form an iota of danger for Turkey. They are not in our league.

Russia was a danger, but is severely pacified now by the Ukraine war where she lost an incredible amount of material and confidence.

We have weapons development progress in all fronts. It is a matter of months to announce ramjet missiles. Once A2A ramjets are announced ground to ground ramjets will be a natural follower. When entire hostile territory of the enemy is in our unstoppable missile range then what good is a fighter jet.

Once you have developed a successful fighter the next development will take like half the time.
US for one has brought down the development cycle to less than 5 years.
It also is a different story when you are developing a ground breaking fighter and a common fighter.
Türkiye has also nearly completed the development of all components of a fighter except for the engine.
We are already way into the development, counting months to roll out.

Sure you can develop Or import LRUs but designing is a big challenge especially when you have no prior experience.

JV : Joint Venture in dictionary;
“A business enterprise in which two or more companies enter a temporary partnership.”
There is no such partnership between Tusas and BAE Systems. Tusas is paying BAE for it’s services rendered.

Turkish Aerospace Industries managed to verify the international scientific study, including the "Turkish Aerospace USA" office in the USA and academics from the world's leading universities. Thanks to the work involving TOBB University, the fatigue tests applied on the metals (Aluminum and Titanium) materials were scientifically verified with artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning. In the next stage, studies have been started for the application of materials such as metals, composite polymer materials and titanium alloys used in aircraft structures.

The company, which will also commission the Digital Twin technology, will start the test of the product's twin designed in the virtual environment as soon as the test phases of the product begin. Turkish Aerospace Industries, which has managed to shorten the test phase with artificial intelligence, will collect test data from the same piece that it will design in a virtual environment with Digital Twin technology. As a result of the test data obtained from here, it can be determined beforehand which areas will get tired and how much. Thus, the durability of the part will be known.
