Is the 10 tons the empty weight or max take-off weight?
These are MTOWs. When one speaks of a 10ton class, it is the total weight with which the helicopter can fly. That includes, carcass, payload, fuel and avionics et al.
t-129 is 5 ton class. T-629 is 6 ton class and so on.

edit:
As per @Zafer ‘s addition, these helicopters can manage more than their stated class tonnage, as they are built with a very good margin of tolerance.

When the Atak-2 helicopter matures, the development of the T629 helicopter will continue.

I'm glad the project is still on. We have the rights to Atak until 2027 so it makes sense to delay the project.

I'm sorry but as far as I know, the engine for the 929 will be Ukrainian (Motor Sich). Is there an alternative already chosen, consider the situation in Ukraine right now ?

The reason why instead of waiting for a domestic engine, foreign engines were chosen for the T-929 is because apparently the Land Aviation Command wants deliveries ASAP starting with 3 helis to be delivered in 2025. That's 2 years between first flight and first delivery BTW.

Those engines are for the testing and (probably) initial production phase. At the final phase, they'll be replaced by the TS-3000 that's currently under development (?) by TEI. But yeah if Ukraine gets invaded or somehow the engine deliveries are distrupted, the development of T-929 will be severely delayed.

+Camo
+18 March (Naval victory day)
+The image was published above the sea surface,
It definitely will be navalized, maybe the first prototype will be directly developed as such.
It wasn't hard to see Atak-II (AKA T-929) was going to be navalized since the announcement of the project, it could have been initiated by efforts of the Turkish Navy to begin with. Now officially confirmed by Temel Kotil.

(My post from 2020 Dec is quoted above. Turkish Navy is a partner of the project since the beginning and they are going the receive prototypes, maybe even before than the land forces)
