Aselsan's assessment of the microelectronics supply shortage of February 2021

In our research conducted within the scope of category Strategy Studies, expectations for price growth and extended delivery times in the semiconductor market are summarized below.

The price growth trend is observed in the semiconductor market, and some manufacturers note that this is due to problems in wafer stocks of wafer factories, such as UMC in Taiwan. As a result, delivery times are expected to be extended to 40-50 weeks in addition to the increase in price for semiconductors. In particular, due to the severe 200mm diameter wafer supply shortage in PMIC, DDIC, the production time for orders placed today is extended to 20-24 weeks. High-volume users (5G investments, smartphone manufacturers) are not expected to be affected much due to long-term contract and inventory management, but small-volume end users (automotive sector, etc.) prices have already increased by 20-30% on integrated circuits, 30% on fingerprint sensors, and up to 50% on some flash memory controllers. The effects of alocation caused by this bottleneck in the market are first seen in the automotive sector. Wolkswagen, Honda, Toyota etc. leading automotive companies have changed their production plans and decided to close some production lines. The negative effects of this alocation are projected to reach their highest level in mid-2021 and continue until early 2022. Given the volume of use, it is inevitable that the defense industry and its subcontractors will also be affected by the current situation.

Central bulk order price agreements with the granting of stock-keeping, or maintaining inventory companies, predictive unregistered providing assurance with orders, and orders if necessary (if possible) will be evaluated and different issues such as the division of the supply sources are considered to be measures to minimize the risks to our supply.

I think it is an ideal product in today's world where mobility is gaining importance day by day.

Containerized integrated weapon and watchtower (KESGK) offered in collaboration with Unidef, GES Mühendislik and Meteksan Defense.

Unidef turret system; Together with Meteksan Retinar PTR-X Ground Surveillance Radar, GES Engineering Mobile Tower System is an integrated solution.

Turkey has the second largest Thorium reserves in the world behind Brazil.
Thorium salt reactor is a nuclear reactor without the nasty disadvantages of conventional nuclear reactors. It is safer.
Thorium-based reactors are safer because the reaction can easily be stopped and because the operation does not have to take place under extreme pressures. Compared to uranium reactors, thorium reactors produce far less waste and the waste that is generated is much less radioactive and much shorter-lived.
Tubitak in December 2017 held a workshop to see the feasibility and implementation of this this technology.

Now with Figes they are working on utilising this technology for the purpose of energy production.

Because of it’s safer operation , it would be easier to use the power reactors in large ships and subs.

1 year prior to Corona outbreak the ventilator was already created, the company established just didn't seem to actually grow/expand and maybe it was because they didn't have enough investors, or proper connections to get it moving. So you could argue that covid was a blessing for the company's future.

A clean and easy to manage nuclear power can even be used in space propulsion. This can give us the much needed power to up our game in navy propulsion which is the only missing element in our endeavors. A 20-30 MW power source can power 10-15 thousand homes (2kW per home but with more efficient machines this is likely double in recent years) or equivalent other consumption. This can be miniaturized to fit in several shipping containers. One of the largest technology initiatives that Turkey is going for. Lets hope for the best, this is a savior.

Ukraine Turkey Joint UAV production.

In July 2020, Turkish Ambassador to Ukraine Yagmur Ahmet Guldere announced that Kyiv and Ankara were negotiating the joint development and production of Bayraktar drones in Ukraine.

In October 2020, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleh Urusky stated: Turkey is ready to invest and build a new enterprise for the production of Bayraktar TB2 drones and other types of UAVs developed by Baykar Makina.

Such plans were officially formalized on December 14, 2020, when the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran and the Head of the Secretariat of the Defense Industry of the Republic of Turkey Ismail Demir signed the relevant Memorandum .

Six months have passed since this event. And at first glance, there is reason to ask - why has not yet started construction of a plant for the production of Turkish-designed drones in Ukraine?

Defense Express was able to find out the following. In theory, you can start the physical process of building a plant for the production of Turkish UAVs in Ukraine in accordance with the Law of Ukraine №1116-IX "On state support of investment projects with significant investments in Ukraine."

In turn, according to Defense Express, Baykar held an international competition for the best design project of the future company, which was attended by about 250 architects and architectural firms. The results of this competition

Seems redundant when others have already developed it.
