Reducing imports by 30bln € would presume that every company is now going to buy these machines instead, and that these 9 machines cover the entire market. Which I simply doubt.

Yes, trust nothing that govt (or media proxy or corporate shill) puts out on this.

I have looked at underlying data for the investment (over last 10 years) needed to do such a thing, and its very lacking to do such a thing...especially in just few years time.

TR needs to get its investment rate lot higher than it is (quantitatively and qualitatively)....it stands at around 25% of GDP right now and FDI is very lacking (a known qualitative register)....all largely due to entrenched nature of some bureaucrats in critical areas.

I will give bigger post on this in TR economy thread soon.

From what I know TAI want to produce N 219 and join in N 245 development

From what I know TAI want to produce N 219 and join in N 245 development

There is no such plan, they preferred to cooperate with Boeing in the production of thermoplastics, so they have already said that they will design and manufacture a regional passenger plane in the future, but standard composites will not be used as currently.

Well Engineering support for TAI development project could be related to TFX development.
Really? It is not really related to anything that PT DI may need especially on drones just like in the past but definitely TAI needs help of PT DI on TFX?
Especially thinking TAI is working with British in the project, has decades long relationship with european companies and KAI.
From what I know TAI want to produce N 219 and join in N 245 development

It was in the past when a regional plane was needed, since PT DI has not been willing for a cooperation on these in the past, TAI had received offers from other reliable partners .

Just read official statement from PTDI that said "Enginering support of Turkish Aerospace development project "

Well PTDI is not rejecting the offer, but we have so many project like MALE drone, N 219, and KF21/IFX program. During that time 114 Indonesian design enginners were in Korea and based on the plan around 100 engineers will be back to Korea this year

Wny on earth would TAI wanna produce the N219 and N245?
I mean, it isnt strategic at all tbh
They are already producing the TFX and are already in talks with Ukraine to develop new military cargo planes
Why on earth would they want the N245 is just unfathomable for me and in return they might get drone technology; IMO, this doesnt seem fair at all
Would you know the reason @Indos

Teknofest 2021: Indonesia strengthens aerospace cooperation with Turkey

Turkey and Indonesia further strengthened their cooperation in aerospace on Tuesday after a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Teknofest 2021 in the Turkish metropolitan Istanbul.

Aerospace Indonesia, locally known as PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), and Turkish Aerospace signed the MoU to “cooperate in N219 aircraft production extension, modernization and life extension of Turkish CN235 aircraft fleet,” the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara said in a statement.

The two sides will cooperate in engineering support of Turkish Aerospace’s development project and the N245 joint development and production.

“The MoU (will) improve and strengthen the cooperative relationship that has existed between PTDI and Turkish Aerospace, especially in terms of the N219 aircraft and the modernization of the Turkish CN235 aircraft,” the statement added.

Noting cooperation between PTDI and Turkish companies, the embassy said Indonesia has collaborated with Turkey’s Aselsan defense company in 2000 for the installation of signal intelligence and intelligent communication systems on the CN235 Turkish Air Force aircraft.

“In the Teknofest 2021, PTDI is again showcasing its flagship products and services to expand markets and increase sales, especially for the CN235-220 and N219 aircraft,” the statement added.

The six-day TEKNOFEST at Ataturk Airport, which began Tuesday, will continue until Sunday.

Founded in 1976, PTDI is one of the indigenous aerospace companies in Asia with core competencies in aircraft design, development and test, aircraft structure manufacturing, aircraft production, and aircraft services for both civilian and military, the embassy said.

It was in 2018 when two companies engaged into Aksungur to co-develop. And PT DI had stalled it, TAI completed project on their own.
There is no excuses for stalling a promise i think, especially after you have received some support in MALE program.

I will rather wait for the statement of TAI to see it in the all aspects, i don't really think PT DI will be openly admitting they will be receiving some support in the drones.

Moreover, the engineering support is whar British provides to TAI at the moment, right choice of the words would be they will be doing some outsourced jobs, probably in terms of the offset. Also to note, it may be related to CN235 upgrade, not TFX.

Just as i said, both CN235 and MPAs will go through a major upgrade with turkish subsystems. @Indos , no TFX.
